No Ads showing after 30d ban lifted

Hi,

A month ago, we got the message "ad serving limit due to invalid traffic concerns" in our AdMob account. So, we removed the ad units of all of our apps to stop ads requests.

Recently (about 2 weeks ago), the ad serving limit lifted but no ads is getting shown in our app. All the new ad units, even test units ads, return error code 3 (ERROR_CODE_NO_FILL). There is no error message or policy violation related to our published app in the AdMob account (see the attachments).

Are we still under ads restriction with no clue in our account?
Please, can you help us to figure out what should be the issue. We've already reviewed almost all of the AdMob documentation.
We can also provide more information if it's required.

Thank you for providing your information privately.

Upon checking your ad unit ids in our sample app, I was able to get ads on all of it. Also, I've seen that you have a policy violation on your app which is Restricted ad serving. With that being said, kindly fix that as that is one of the possible reasons why you are not getting ads on your app itself. For better assistance on this violation, we recommend raising this to the Product Support Team.

Thanks for fast responding.
How did you test that? Did you use the same package name as our app? I know if you change the app package name to a different name ads will be shown.
The mentioned policy violation message is for our previous app and as you can see it's removed/disabled from the play store and there is no way we can get rid of that notification. Also, there is no restriction message/policy violation for our new app in AdMob account.

Here is the policy violation screenshot of our previous app. As you can see there is no way to fix it and also the play store console of this app is completely disabled.

I tested the ad unit ids in our sample app as I mentioned in my previous response. Were you able to replicate it in our sample app? Thanks for your help.

As you suggested, we tested our app configuration in the sample app. The ad units start working in test mode but if we do not provide the device test id, the ad units return error code 3.

Our app has been published/released in play store for more than 2 month, and before we got the "ad serving limit due to invalid traffic" message, all ads units have been working fine. Recently, this ad serving limit is gone but no ads is getting displayed and all of them always return ERROR_CODE_NO_FILL (error code 3).
We've already asked from the AdMob support team about this issue and they didn't respond yet.

Is there any way we can test ad units in live mode to find the source of issue?

Thank you for the response, in lookover what has been said on this thread. If the account or the app that is associated with the account. Have had any issues or holds put against them this will result in ads being restricted. As I saw in your one post, it looks like the app has been removed from the store for invalid traffic? if this has happened it is beyond our scope to handle this. You will need to contact our Product Support Team as they are able to help you with it. At the same time, it sounds like you have also tested your app with our ids and that everything was ok. This again points to the probability that this is an account based issue and not something with the SDK.

I need help I cant get ads to work ever. Ads dont work when testing on my phone or for published games on the iOS App Store. its been published for two months

Hi Idea Development,

Thank you for the response. As previously stated, the fact that you were able to get test ads to show but are unable to get the live ads to show could be due to 3 things:
  1. That you have not linked your account to your app
  2. That your account was restricted for some reason, such as invalid traffic or false clicks.
  3. That you account might be under review, here is an article talking about it.
At this moment these are the things we would suggest that you check out, unfortunately we do not have the tools to look into these here.

I am having this problem now. My app's policy violation was lifted 7 days ago and a new iOS build is now live. My impressions are still WAY below what they normally should be. How do I fix this?AdMob Impressions.png

Hi,

Thanks for your attention.
1) Our app has been linked to our account (attached screenshot).
2) For the case of invalid traffic restriction, this AdMob article, explains that: "In this case, limited ad serving applies to AdMob Network only and doesn’t affect third-party mediation, house ads, and direct sold campaigns.", so the question is why it affects in our Facebook mediation?
3) Our AdMob account has been approved a year ago.

I re-attached the screenshot of policy center section of our AdMob account too (No violation).

Thank you for the additional information. Just a few last questions, are you working in Unity? If so, what version of the plugin, 6.1.0 or something else? Also who are you using as your 3rd party provider, is it adColony?

Hi mobileadssdk,

We're working with Flutter in our production app, but the provided "mediation-test-suite" sample app (we've attached in the last email) is based on Java.
Here is the plugin versions that we used in the android build.gradle file:

implementation 'com.google.android.gms:play-services-ads:20.3.0'
implementation 'com.google.android.ads:mediation-test-suite:2.0.0'
implementation 'com.facebook.android:audience-network-sdk:6.6.0'
implementation 'com.google.ads.mediation:facebook:6.6.0.0'


Also, we're going to set up the AdMob bidding mediation partner for Facebook Audience Network as described here.

We don't think this is a Flutter issue because everything had been working perfectly until our ads traffics got restricted. Now, the ads limitation is gone but no real ads is getting displayed (always return error code 3) even with Facebook Mediation.
We've tested many various scenarios with no luck. We didn't get any response from google product support team yet. We stuck at this point.

With regard to your concern, please do note that the SDK just requests an ad to the ad server (E.g: AdMob), and I'm afraid that it doesn't have any control on fill rate / match rate of your app. This is more of an ad serving issue which is out of scope to our team. That said, we would recommend raising this to our Product Support team instead. The product specialist there should be able to assist you further on this. Since you mentioned that you already raised this to them, what we can recommend for now is to wait for their response on this. We hope that you get a positive response from them the soonest time possible.
