Hi,
I think subject is enough? And what if Admob for some reason displays an Ad that is incompatible with the apps content rating? Does Google Play still take actions against this kind of admob ads?

Google Play takes an action when app of high maturity is made available in medium maturity. So they put it at high maturity and make medium maturity unselectable for that app.

18+ ads like real gambling & betting are turned off by default when creating a new Ad Unit ID in AdMob. And there is a relevancy factor for ads to reachIMO which might lead Ads to be based on user's interest ( reasoning advertising ID).
I have been having kids apps from past 3 year with admob ads and haven't got any complaint regarding inappropriate ads. The new sensitive categories is a good way to remove all ads which may cause issues.

AdMob takes a lot of things into account when picking the right ad to serve at any given time, and as Kunal mentioned, many "adult" categories are turned off by default.  If you're especially concerned about how AdMob treats your users, you can mark your requests with our child-directed treatment flag, as well.

Thanks Kunal and Andrew

1. But the question was does Admob makes sure that the ad which its going to server respect the app maturity level.

2. If for some reason Admob shows medium/high maturity ads in low maturity. Are we safe from Google Play policy because Admob is of Google. or still Google play takes action?

Regards

It doesn't make sense that Google would serve you an ad knowing your app's listed maturity level, and then punish you for having received it, so you shouldn't have anything to worry about.  If you are particularly concerned, there is the child-directed treatment flag which you can set on requests, and also the ad filters made available to you on AdMob.com when setting up your ad units (https://support.google.com/admob/answer/3150174).

Even though they groups within the same company, I doubt that Admob is looking at the content rating of your app in Google Play when it decides what ads to server. I suspect it is much more likely that it is just looking at the ad categories that you have configured within Admob.

But as Kunal and Andrew point out, mature categories are switched off by default.

So if you have configured you app as general maturity within Google Play, but configured Admob to server high maturity ads I would think you were at fault. So for peace of mind make sure your review the ad categories for your app.
