Hi

I was trying to integrate applovin with my admob but faced these issues.
1)As I was integrating using this guide - https://developers.google.com/admob/android/mediation/applovin
I could not see Placements section and admob needs placement name in order to integrate applovin for banner ads.

2)For rewarded video "placement" field is marked optional in admob console (for applovin) but if I leave it blank it doesnot load ad from applovin.(I waited for half an hour after updating the values in admob console and then tried to load ad.)

Please do let me know if I need to attach any log or screenshot.

Hi Mayank,

Below are my responses to each issue you've raised.

1. Regarding this section of the guide, it's best to get assistance from the Applovin team regarding this as they are the appropriate team to assist you on any concerns specific to the Applovin UI such as navigating to the Placements section.

2. Make sure that you have followed all the required steps mentioned in the guide. Please note that any changes with your Ad Unit Id might take a few hours before it takes effect. That said, could you provide to us privately (using Reply privately to author option) your Ad Unit Id so we can check on our end? Could you also provide to us the complete device logs (including Ad event logs) when trying to load Rewarded Ads?

Hi Ivan

Thanks for the prompt reply

1)For the first issue I will reach to applovin and see if the placement section is still supoorted.

2)For the second case my issue got resolved after waiting for 1 hour after updating all information in admob mediation console. Thanks anyway.:)

I can't get the banner admob mediation to work too for Applovin. Probably the missing "Placement" is the key?

Hi,

Let me check this with the rest of the team, then I'll update this thread for any official feedback from the team.

Hi,

Thank you for your patience.

The team got back to me and confirmed that AppLovin removed placements in the AppLovin UI.

The team is actively working on this to update the AdMob UI accordingly. For the meantime, you may do the following workaround to test mediation with AppLovin on your end.
  • For Rewarded Video Ad Units, you don't have to include the placement ID
  • For Banner/Interstitial, where placement is currently required, you could place a random string in there, for now. However, once the AdMob UI is updated accordingly, please remove the placement Id.
I will also get back in this thread for any official updates.

Hi everyone,

Upon checking with our test AdMob account, I verified that Placement is now marked as Deprecated and is no longer required when setting up mediation with AppLovin in the AdMob dashboard for any of the supported Ad formats. Could you verify if it's the same on your end?
