Admob Publisher ID not working but using some other Id I found works.

I recently joined admob basically joining when the new admob site is being transitioned into apps.admob.com

It says at the top my publisher ID is: 

Publisher ID: pub-**************** where there are 16 numbers instead of stars

Using the above ID does not work but when I use: ca-app-pub-1234567890123456/1234567890 as a publisher ID i found trying to find a solution it works.

Here is what message I receive in LogCat: Invalid unknown request error: Cannot determine request type. Is your ad unit id correct?

You want the ID for the purpose of showing Ads using the SDK. Right?

For the purpose of including the Ad unit ID in code, separate Ad unit ID ( and not publisher ID) are available in the Monetize-> All Apps-> Click on an app.
That is not some other ID. Its the real deal for showing Ads when implementing the SDK.
And every app will have a different Ad unit ID.

pub-*************** won't work. Using the full ad unit ID, ca-app-pub-1234567890123456/1234567890, is correct.
