Ahoy!

For trying the AdMob eCPM Floor Beta I was told to get a second publisher ID.

After searching the web and not finding a good tutorial on how to do so, I tried it myself and somehow managed to register the very same Android app again - getting another publisher ID.

I got into the mediation of the original app and added the eCPM Floor Beta - with the second publisher ID.

Now I got only one Mediation ID  - the one the app uses.

I got this for several days now, however the floor Beta does not receive any ad requests at all...

Did I fail at getting the publisher Id, or at adding the second ad network (on mediation of first ad, "add ad network"), or did I even fail somewhere else...?

Thanks for any help in advance!

Hi userrr3,

When setting eCPM values for your mediation placement, what eCPM value did you put for the eCPM Floor Beta ad unit ID? It should be higher than the eCPM you put for regular AdMob, so that AdMob mediation requests from the eCPM floor ad unit first.

Thanks,
Eric

Thanks for your reply!

So, was the way I created the second publisher ID correct? :)

I set 0.00 for AdMob
0.20 for eCPM Floor

The total eCPM is 0.32, but the last 7 days average is 0.16 and when I set it to 40 I did not get any requests either.

Thanks in advance!

Creating a second publisher ID is the correct approach.

Is it requests or impressions you aren't getting? If you're not getting requests, maybe you have some other network higher than 0.20 on your mediation placement and that network is getting all of the requests and not eCPM floor. If you're not getting impressions, it means AdMob doesn't have an ad at that time that will get you your desired eCPM, 0.20 in this case.

By the way, I recommend setting AdMob to a non-zero value. If it's 0, it won't ever be requested.

Cheers,
Eric

Alright,

I do not get any requests - thus 0 impressions too.
I only have AdMob (earlier 0.00$ eCPM, now I set it too 0.10$, because you said zero is not smart)
and AdMob floor eCPM - set to 0.20$ eCPM - not getting any requests or impressions.

Thanks in advance again, thanks for your patience!

I took a look at the reporting for your placements and it appears that no traffic is going through your mediation ID. Are you sure that your app is using a mediation placement id (16 hex characters), and not the site id (15 characters, beginning with a14 or a15)?

Thanks,
Eric

Hi Eric,

I need your help, I've added admob floor beta, millennial and adfonic as ad network in my mediation placement I'm testing for my app. Do I need to add admob network too to receive admob ads. But when I try add admob network it tells me that I need unique publisher id different that what's used for floor beta.

Do I need to submit my same app again with same details except the app name to get the different publisher id?

Thanks!

Hi Raj,

The answer depends on whether you're using legacy or new AdMob:

New AdMob - there is only 1 ad unit ID (whether the placement is mediation or not), and you can set up AdMob network and AdMob eCPM floor as part of your mediation settings. It's much more intuitive on new AdMob, and just works as you'd expect.

Legacy AdMob - Your eCPM floor beta publisher ID should be different than your AdMob network publisher ID. You don't NEED to, but you'll probably want to add the AdMob network as well to your mediation placement, and configure AdMob network with a lower eCPM value. If you don't have a second publisher ID, create one and in your mediation settings point the AdMob network at it.

Either way, you don't need to re-release your app. Both eCPM floor beta and AdMob network use the AdMob adapter, which is part of the AdMob SDK you already have in your app. So the server-side changes will just start working.

Cheers,
Eric
