AdMob match dropped 90%

Hi everyone,

I have an app that uses AdMob since 2017 and we're always experienced about 1.32 million impressions per day, until Jul 22, 2021. Suddenly, our match rate dropped to 79.4K, hurting our earnings by 90%.

This is our match rate in june (one week):
AdMob Network requests = 15,008,888
Match rate = 91.46%
Matched requests = 13,727,128

After the issue, this is our current numbers (one week):
AdMob Network requests = 151,513,343 *
Match rate = 2.49%
Matched requests = 3,772,682

* the high number of requests is because the ads are failing to load, so a reload is triggered right after some seconds.

There were no changes in the app since may (although we released a new version with an updated Flutter plugin, because the old one was using com.google.android.gms:play-services-ads 19 and we updated it to 20.1.0).

There are no violations in the Policy Center and our click rate is low (for instance, we had a total of 42,596,551 impressions in Jun and only 0.10% CTR (42,830 clicks)).

This issue seems to be happening only for Android (although iOS is in a different AdMob account)

We already tried to create new ad unit ids and even publishing a new version in another AdMob account we have for a third non related app, this new account has issues as well:

(data from 2 days):
AdMob Network requests = 4,722,536
Match rate = 4.82%
Matched requests = 227,686

We have a staff that depends on those ads to receive their salaries and we are a bit desperate over here because we won't earn enough to keep  ourselves in business, so we will have fire half a dozen people that depend on this work to live =(

Has anyone experience this or have any clue on how can we get information about what is happening?

AdMob Help Center is useless and, in case you didn't read, the ads were OK for years, until last month. Is not an implementation issue.
Google just don't care about its developers.

I have had the same issue. After using Admob for several years suddenly on June 1st the match rate started to drop from 80% down to 10% and even 1% on some days, but now finally in August it is starting to climb back again and I am back earning almost as much as I did before. Do not expect to get any help from Google as they don't care; I mean even their contact form is broken as you can see from so many posts in this group about it. I think the only thing you can do is to wait, really sorry. :(

With regard to your concerns on Match rate, kindly note that this forum only supports integration of the Mobile Ads SDK. For match rate concern, we can only recommend raising this to AdMob Help Center, but since the Help center seems to be not working, we will raise it to the rest of the team to check the form.

A lot of people saying that the match dropped 90% and all Google say is "check the help" or "your implementation is wrong".

Just check the damn thing! It is clearly broken.

Or at least have the decency to tell us what the hell is going on.

You can't just cut 90% of our earnings and say "too bad, dumbass, it is your fault".

We have employees that will not get their salaries next month!

We have this problem too. Match rate is %0 about 2 months. It drops suddenly. Google AdMob Help is not working. When we try to fill the contact form it says " Refresh this page and try again. Sorry, there was a problem with the form." So there is no contact option, there is no help, there is no reason and there is no any information about it. I think Google does not care any problem about admob.

AdMob is a fucking joke. Google is deliberating blocking apps.

Brand new AdMob account. First 24 hours, match rate go up until 60%, then Google fuck me up and this fucking shit is now 0.78.

No policy violations listed, no e-mail, no support, no fucking nothing.l

Per https://support.google.com/admob/answer/9686306, duplicate AdMob accounts are not allowed. Creating another account is not the answer to solving the problem.

This forum is for supporting SDK implementation questions/issues. As you've already claimed (and I agree), the change in your account is unrelated to an SDK implementation issue.

https://support.google.com/admob/gethelp is the appropriate channel for non-SDK implementation questions. We have been escalating to the team managing the contact forms behind this about how they're broken, and will send this thread as another example. But that flow also links to the community forum at https://support.google.com/admob/community as well.
