We have encountered an issue in with excessive frozen frames. We have found out that one of the main reasons is a process of calling AdMob Unity plugin. Frozen frames happen when an ad starts and then when the ad stops being shown, especially when the Google Play Store window is being called.
We tried calling an ad in an empty Unity project and the amount of frozen frames has decreased a little but this hasn’t had any effect on the frozen frames when the ad finishes showing.
There are archives with screenshots and traces that were made with Systrace attached to the post.
