Hi there,

I'm getting the message :

<Google> Limit Ad Tracking may be enabled. To get test ads on this device, disable Limit AdTracking.

When initialising the AdMob SDK. This is on an iOS 14 device. I don't get this on my iOS 13 device.

Settings->Privacy->Allow Apps to Request to Track is ON.

I'm still getting ads, but I guess they're non-targeted? Why is this? I've implemented UMP and click 'consent', so I should be getting fully targeted ads.

Thanks,

Steve.

Hi Steve,

Thank you for reaching out to us.

Limit Ad Tracking is an iOS feature designed for a user to opt out of targeted ads when turned on. You may try turning it off to see if this would fix the issue.

As I said Ziv, this is an iOS 14 device. This is a different option. Your link is for iOS 13.

On iOS 13 the option is "Limit Ad tracking" and enabling it, stops tracking as your link shows.

In iOS 14 the option is "Allow Apps to Request to Track" and obviously, enabling this should allow the apps to track. It's the opposite of iOS 13.

Whether the option is enabled or not, the warning message is always presented on iOS 14.

Can this be looked into, please?

Steve.

Hi Stevie,

Thank you for the additional information regarding this issue. As I work along with Ziv, I will be assisting you today.

Could you send us a sample project that shows how you are implementing the SDK so that we can look more into this for you.

Morning William,

The official Admob iOS sample projects show this message, this should make it easier for you to test/debug.

I just tried the interstitial example:

And got (with Allow Apps to Request to Track set to ON or OFF):

2020-09-09 10:17:06.233697+0100 InterstitialExample[715:100890] <Google> Limit Ad Tracking may be enabled. To get test ads on this device, disable Limit AdTracking.
