Hello,

I'm trying to show banner ads and interstitial ads in my iOS app, I've added my device as a test device and when I first implemented the ads they where all working fine. Now however some or all ads won't even load; some days I'll test the ads and all of them will show flawlessly, other days the banner ads will stop working, and other days no ads will show at all. I have tried showing the ads with the Test-AdUnit-Id provided by Admob and all of them show up fine on the simulator and actual devices on all versions of iOS.

I get the following errors upon trying to load both Interstitial and Banner ads:

adView:didFailToReceiveAdWithError: Request Error: No ad to show.

interstitial:didFailToReceiveAdWithError: Request Error: No ad to show.

I've tried reinstalling the app, updating to the latest iOS version, updating to the latest version of the SDK and I’ve checked that Limit Ad Tracking is disabled. But nothing seems to fix the issue.

*I have other apps with integrated ads and they seem to be working fine.

Does anyone know what the source of the problem is?

Thank you in advance.

Hi there,

Thanks for contacting us.

Given that you were able to load Ads at times then, it is safe to assume that there is no issue with your integration with the Mobile Ads SDK. That said, please note that it is expected behavior that, at times, there are no available Ads from any of your Ad sources when sending an Ad request using your live Ad Unit Id/s.

For us to test this on our end, could you provide to us privately (using the Reply privately to author option) your Ad Unit Id/s in question?

Regards,
Steven Balan

Hi there,

I just want to get back to this thread to share our findings publicly.

I've tested the Ad Unit Ids that was provided privately with our BannerExample app and I also failed to load an Ad and kept on receiving an Error code 1: No Fill which could mean that it is possible that there are just no available Ads from any of your Ad sources during those moments when we are both trying to load Ads.

I also provided an answer to your additional question quoted below:

Could it perhaps be the adView size? I'm using full width banner views at the bottom of the safe area, as I understood previously ads would just adjust their size to fit correct?

As long as you follow this guide then, your Ad request should be sent successfully. However, we have no assurance if any of the Ad sources will have the available Ads to fill your Ad request information (e.g. Ad size requested). If you need further assistance, you may reach out to the Product Support Team for Ad serving related concerns.

On the other hand, please note that unpublished app might have an impact on your fill rate which is one possible reason why you are consistently getting Ads in your other apps that are published in the App Store.
