ATT pop - user deny

Hi, if I present ATT popup and user deny it, then in that scenario what will happen ? I have added SKAdnetwork . What will be affected ?

Hi Frank,

Thank you for bringing this question to our attention. Given the Use Case that you presented, if the person does not give consent. Then the AdMob SDK will only serve non personalized ads to the app. This will have relatively little effect on the SKAdNetwork. Which will still be used just not as heavily.

Question 1 : And what about the other Data collection that you guys mentioned in
https://developers.google.com/admob/ios/data-disclosure. Will those be affected ? 

- IP address,

- User-associated performance data 

- A Device ID such as the device's advertising identifier

- Other user product interactions like app launch taps

Question 2:  If above data is collected and user has denied ATT is it still considered that user is being tracked ?

Hi William.

You say that if user denies consent, he will see non personalized ads.
I was thinking that SKAdNetwork, even if user denies, was able to mitigate the situation and still serve some personalized ads instead of totally non personalized ads.

If not then what is the point of SKAdNetwork?

With regard to your question, the used of SKAdNetwork is supporting the conversion tracking, which lets Google and participating third-party buyers attribute an app install even when the IDFA is not available.

Hi Frank,

Even if the user denies the IDFA request, SKAdNetwork will still function, i.e., sending conversion pings. 

We introduced the same app key in iOS GMA SDK 8.3.0 https://developers.google.com/admob/ios/global-settings#same_app_key which helps mitigate revenue loss in the absence of IDFA. It only track users within the same app, and you can alway turn it off.

Need a bit clarification on data disclosure by admob as mentioned in following link.

You guys say that you collect following data, 

1. IP address,

2.  User-associated performance data 

3. A Device ID such as the device's advertising identifier

4.  Other user product interactions like app launch taps

Question 1 :  Can user be tracked by above data ?  

Question 2 : If user deny ATT, then point 4 device ID will not be collected in that case, does the below statement holds true ? 

- User is tracked by you guys even if IDFA is not collected. 

Above questions are curial to my application as apart from admob I donot collect my data by which user can be tracked.

Google does not track a specific user for advertising purpose.
