According to the new Google Play policy, apps targeting both children and adults are required to not transmit Advertising ID when a child is using the app. Does Admob use Advertising ID? If yes, how do we disable it in runtime in Admob SDK Unity version?

Hello Kwong,

Thank you for reaching out to us.

With regard to your question, you need to upgrade the GMA SDK to the latest version as starting from version 20.4.0 android, Google Mobile Ads SDK includes the com.google.android.gms.AD_ID permission in the SDK's manifest. You can check our release notes for the v20.4.0. To learn more about the AD_ID permission declaration, including how to disable it, refer to this Play Console Help article.

Hi Pamela,

Thanks for your reply. Is it possible to disable it in runtime? The suggested method seems to disable the Advertising ID permanently. Would it affect the ad performance when advertising ID is disabled all the time?

Here's what I got from Google Play:

Hello Kwong,

Thank you for your response.

As per the guide, as this is needed to be added inside the manifest, I don't think if this is possible to disable in a runtime. This should not affect the ads performance as it is already mentioned in the guide.
