You should be using separate ad unit IDs for each platform. In the AdMob front end, you should create a new "Application" for each platform, and then set up an ad unit inside each app.

The Mobile Ads SDK in Google Play services does work on Amazon's app store even though there is no Google Play services installed on the device. Other components in Google Play services such as maps or google play games may not work, but ads still will. The only caveat is you don't get the advantage of automatic updates to apps on amazon because there is no service that automatically gets updates. So to upgrade the SDK you need to compile a new version into your app.

Thanks,
Eric

That's something AdMob should be handling for you. It should detect that the Google Play store is not available, and as a result not serve app install ads that can't be resolved on those devices.

Hello,

I'm not on the policy team so I'm unable to help here. This forum only handles tech support when integrating the SDK. You'll have to go through the appeal form as the email suggests.

Thank you for your response. However as we have use admob for years I think we should have a better way to handle adunit. To be honest almost all the times we made cross platform application we expect everything to work the same way and ads unit setting for each platform almost always identical. I wish admob should have official support for cross platform adunit system

Hi Thaina,

Thank you for reaching out to us.

Having different ad units for different platforms seems to be the standard across ad platforms in general. This separation of ad units also matter the most when it comes to ad performance reports, since you would have a far better gauge on the ad units if they are separated both by type (banner, interstitial, etc.), and by platform (Android, iOS).

That being said, feel free to create a new thread if you have a feature request in mind regarding this topic, and if you wish to expand on this in order to support said feature request.

While it's true for ads format that we need separate unit ID for each format. That's because each format have their own config option and visually distinct display and even the usage are difference

But that reasoning was not hold true with client's platform. Especially mobile app that almost always identical both config, visual, usage, and anything else. Cross platform app itself always made to be identical in almost all aspect include a way to display monetization

So even admob mediate other ad platform, the adunit itself could be single (and just let us specified each separate unit per platform at the mediation config) and just have option to view the analytics by platform is all we need
Or, on the other hand, it could just change UI to have one adunit, but underlyingly that unit just a proxy to 2 real adunits for each platform

On the contrary, if the ad unit are made to be platform independence from the start, suppose anyone would require difference ad unit on each platform then they would have freedom to create separate unit with their own decision

I know this is very serious change so I don't expect it possible anytime soon but please consider this for the future of admob
