I've noticed there is now App conversion tracking report for Android
apps too. I wonder if there is any help coming from Admob team as to
how to implement conversion tracking. I've searched the internet and
there seems to be even less information on it now than there was 6
months ago,

Hello DraganA,

Unfortunately I don't have a link to point you to more information regarding Android app conversion tracking.  However, I do know that unlike iOS tracking no code is required for Android.  Downloads are reported to AdMob upon app install, and I believe they can be viewed in the AdMob UI once you create an Android App Conversion campaign.

Cheers,
Eric, AdMob Team

So Eric, could you find out for us exactly how to create an Android
App Conversion campaign?

Hi William,

I don't believe any setup is required.  If you create an Ad Campaign with an Ad Group goal of Android app download, you should start seeing App Conversion Tracking results.

And it is no longer necessary to declare an InstallReceiver? Like so:

        <!-- Track Market installs from AdMob ads -->
        <!-- http://developer.admob.com/wiki/Android_App_Download_Tracking -->
        <receiver android:name="com.google.ads.InstallReceiver" android:exported="true">
            <intent-filter>
                <action android:name="com.android.vending.INSTALL_REFERRER"/>
            </intent-filter>
        </receiver>

(The wiki page from the comment no longer seems to be available.)

Hello Markus,

That Wiki page was old and outdated, and is likely the reason it was removed.  You shouldn't need to declare an InstallReceiver anymore.  I've been told that no code is required.

Wow ...

I presume the data must coming from Android Market itself then because
without a registered receiver on the phone there's no way to gather
this info AFAIK.

I believe this is the case.

FYI, there is now a page on the AdMob Help Center that officially discusses Android download tracking.

Will this work for third party marketers as well? We're a marketing
company using admob to help developers drive downloads. However, we
don't have access to their data. Would we still be able to see app
conversions that were initiated from our website? The app owners can
give us data to corroborate our findings but we'd like to be able to
see the conversions in our reporting as well.

Anyone know how to do this or if its possible? Would we need the app
owner to give us access to their data?

Thanks!

Hi,

I have a question, in App conversion tracking, I have one app. It has
9 million impressions, but 0 clicks, 0 installs, 0% conversion rate,
etc.
It doesn't make sense to me... am I doing something wrong?
Are House Ads taken into account for App Conversion tracking?
thanks!
