I'm using the iOS SDK. I'm creating a DFPBannerView, and I'm passing in a GADRequest, with a custom ad size.

I've been told that in 1 out of 5 displays, the ad gets drawn pretty far to the left. Basically, the view stays where it is, but the image that gets drawn inside the view is offset, it looks like more than 100 points, thus cropping out a good chunk of the ad.

I'm using 6.12 of the SDK, which is the latest available to me. Any idea what might cause this - or do I just need to wait for a new SDK?

Yes, I have reproduced it under these conditions:

Google Mobile Ads SDK, version 6.12

iPad 2 (actual hardware), ios 7.1.2
iPad 2 (simulated) ios 7.1
iPad 2 (simulated) ios 8.0

It doesn't happen every time the ad is displayed. For me, it happens about 15% of the time. I've seen it about 5 times this morning. Each time (so far) the image is offset by 152 pixels. Which is a weird number, but I haven't seen a different offset yet.

I didn't see any log entries, so I can't really be of any help there. I am using a custom ad size (460.0 x 100.0), and my adUnitID is "/20461054/DramaFever_Mobile/iOS"

I guess that's all the details I can give you. Hope this helps.

My app has support for landscape only, and I got this issue.

Thanks for chiming in!

Another question: Is this happening after orientation changes? My instinct is telling me this is related to how the view is positioned post-rotation.

Dan,

I have this issue too. Only in iPad landscape, started all of the sudden yesterday. As a temp fix I have had to create custom creatives with a 152px right margin.
<div><a href="%%DEST_URL%%"><img style="margin-right:152px;" class="alignleft" src="%%FILE:JPG1%%" alt="" /></a></div>

Thanks,
JR

I'm seeing this issue as well starting a couple of days ago. I'm seeing a large horizontal offset on iPad and a small offset on iPhone. Occasionally, the ads display correctly. This occurs starting in any orientation and without changing orientation. Investigating the view hierarchy, it appears that the UIWebViews's UIScrollview contentSize is far too large. The same code was displaying correctly until a couple of days ago. I've attached screenshots showing the views.

Hey guys,

This is related to a DFP serving change that just rolled out. It is not related to a particular SDK. I've been able to reproduce as well, but only on iPads.

I filed a high priority bug to have this change reverted.

Thanks,
Eric
