Feature Request and Query Regarding AdMob Consent Dialog

Dear AdMob Team,

I hope this message finds you well. As we eagerly anticipate January 16, 2024, I'd like to discuss a potential enhancement to the AdMob SDK.

Could we explore the possibility of incorporating a configuration option within the primary consent dialog? Specifically, I'm interested in having the ability to include links to the app's terms of service and privacy policy directly in this dialog. This feature would eliminate the need for an additional dialog to display this crucial information, providing a more seamless user experience.

I believe such an addition could reduce user inconvenience and enhance transparency. What are your thoughts on incorporating this feature into future AdMob updates?

Additionally, I have a query regarding the "Store and/or access information on a device" consent. If a user denies this consent, is any unique identifier sent along with the consent request? I'm particularly interested in understanding if the identifier required to track user consent is transmitted even when the user rejects the "Store and/or access information on a device" consent. I believe this information is used by the ump sdk for accurately recording statistics on the server side such as "Messages shown," "EEA & UK traffic rate," and "Consent rate."  Your insights on these matters would be greatly appreciated.

Hi khlifi,

A 403 error is a Http error related to lack of authorization. That specific http issue it outside of my specialty of technical support for the Mobile Ads SDK.  I would verify that your url is correct, and perhaps reach out to the product support team if you continue to have problems.

It's worth noting that individuals pose entirely unrelated questions within my discussion thread instead of initiating a new one. Additionally, the 'Mobile Ads SDK Forum Advisor' responds to those questions but not to mine. Totally amusing.

There currently exists the ability to link the your privacy policy. I have attached a screenshot. This can be replicated by clicking "How can I change my choice?" in the consent dialog, a new popup will come up that contains a link to the privacy policy that you have linked in the AdMob UI. Are you aware of this functionality or are you looking for something else?

For your other query, all the purposes consent data is sent up in the request. They are represented as 1's and 0's for each purpose. See the IAB spec for more information and see How to read consent choices to read what choices the user consented to programmatically. You can also use Charles proxy to inspect the ad request.

@Justin I know very well, but the privacy link should be visible on the main dialog without doing any further tap. Besides, I had asked the possibility to add a terms of service link but similarly to the privacy link it should be immediately visible on the main dialog, no further taps needed.

Hi,  am also looking forward to the feature request asked by @kossavot. Before the CMP requirement we use to show a welcome screen which provided 1. terms of service link and 2. privacy policy link and accept button.  Now since CMP is required which can only include privacy policy link and because of the inability of CMP popup to include any other link i.e terms of service link we will have to ask user two separate popups. 

1. Welcome screen with terms of service link 
2. CMP popup with privacy link 
3. iOS ATT popup 

Which will lead to bad user experience.  If only google CMP popup can include an option to add the terms link too then we can combine 1st and 2nd popup.
