Hi team,

The official Admob documentation says, that Smart Banners are deprecated. Could you clarify if they are completely stopped at the moment? Does it depend on the SDK version?

And Adaptive Banners are relevant only for phone sized ads (~320*50), not tablet (~728*90), right?

Thanks,
Kate.

Hi,

Thank you for reaching out to us.

With regard to your concern, you're correct that the Smart Banner is already deprecated, we don't suggest using the deprecated ad format because if you encounter any errors in the implementation of it, there is no future fix on it as it was deprecated. We always recommend trying the newer adaptive banners (https://developers.google.com/admob/android/banner/anchored-adaptive) instead. Kindly note that, the aspect ratio when using adaptive banners will be similar to that of a standard 320x50 ad, however, an adaptive banner makes better use of the available screen size.
