Admob stop serving ads on ALL Amazon devices

Hi,

I have a 2-years old app on Google Play Store and Amazon App Store.

Admob has been working fine since 2 years.

But since a few days, it stopped serving ads on all Amazon Kindle Fire devices ! It represent 20K DAU users for me ! (1M banner and 100K interstitial impressions daily)

It still works fine on Google Play. And also on no-amazon devices that downloaded it from Amazon App Store ( so it's not linked to the store but only to the fact that this is an Amazon device)

I didn't receive any e-mail or anything.

What's happening ? Did Admob banned Amazon devices ? Why now ? I hope they will reactivate it as soon as possible.

Hello,

I confirm the same problem:

W/Ads(27553): Received error HTTP response code: 400
W/Ads(27553): There was a problem getting an ad response. ErrorCode: 0
W/Ads(27553): Failed to load ad: 0

on all apps downloaded from Amazon App Store on a Kindle Fire device,

what's happening ?

Hi there,

Thank you for contacting us. It might be an Ad serving related issue. Could you please confirm us on what Ad formats you are seeing this issue with? Please note that the device must have Google Play Services installed and if not, then you must bundle it with the APK itself to serve ads on devices without Play Store. Having said that, we do not provide support for third party devices.

I'm seeing this issue on both interstitials and banners.

Google Play Services is bundle in the APK.

It worked during more than 2 years with an average of 1M impressions for banners and 100K for interstitial and stop SUDDENLY so it's definitely not an integration issue.

Can I privately send you my information to check on your side ?

Thanks for confirming the details. Could you please provide us the affected Ad unit Ids and complete device logs for us to debug on our end? Also, can you confirm us whether you were able to reproduce the issue with our sample apps using your Ad unit Id?

Hello,

any official news about this ?

no Ads (banner-smartbanner-interstitial) from December 15th
on apps downloaded from Amazon app store on Amazon kindle devices.

is something wanted by Google ?  or just a bug ?
(the same app with the same package id downloaded from Google play correctly display Ads)

Hi, 

I have the same issues and everyone who has apps on amazon app store. I use Google play services 7.0.0 bundled in apk but since December 15 all my apps don't receive any ads from admob. We have been loosing a lot of traffic :( because of that sad bug. We have the same in our log:

W/Ads(27553): Received error HTTP response code: 400

Also I tried to switch to the latest 11.x.x google play services but still the same issue on all amazon kindle fire devices.

I am having the same problem,no ads are showing on amazon devices. This is extremely frustrating. Does anyone know what is happening yet?

We have a number of Apps, some old some with latest libraries and we are experiencing the same issue. Similar log entries posted below. An indication of when a resolution or workaround will be available would be appreciated as like all on here, we are losing money as a result of this issue.

Just wondering if there is any information regarding the extent of this issue i.e. is it all Amazon devices affected or just a subset. We are looking at contingency plans should this not be something the adMob team can resolve in a reasonable timescale but would prefer to continue with adMob as broadly as is reasonable.

Although this issue does seem to affecting a wide variety of Amazon devices, I cannot conclusively say all devices are affected. This issue has been escalated internally and the ad serving team working towards resolving the issue as soon as possible.

Very tentative but we may be seeing ads on these devices as of the 11th. Has something been discovered and resolved?

Yes, a fix was pushed out for this issue on the 11th. Please do follow up if this issue still persists for you.

It seems to be fixed. Thanks for your help, it's really appreciated.
It works now on my amazon local devices and also on my users devices.

I will check my stats in a few days to see if everything is back to normal.

Hello, I have been facing the same issue for over 2 weeks.

My app on amazon was working perfectly with Admob ads for years and suddenly stopped 2 weeks ago and I have been getting 0 revenues.
I did not update my app on the Amazon store since the 9th of Dec 2019.

Something is wrong...

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I was able to test your ad unit IDs (with our sample apps), and can confirm that I was getting ads on all of them (see attached screenshots). That said, I would recommend contacting the AdMob Help Center for further assistance on this ad-serving concern; the product specialists should be able to provide better insights on this. You may also want to check out our troubleshooter for ad-serving issues as well.
