DoubleClick Android AdMob "Displayed insecure content" error

Hi,

I'm trying to setup AdMob in my Android application and everything was working great until I tried it out on live devices. On all testing everything worked fine but after building for release and testing on some real devices I can't seem to get any ads to display.

In the logcat I see the following:

If the "no fill from ad server" is the reason I see these errors then that's totally fine.  I just want to make sure that the other messages aren't an indication that I'm doing something wrong and will never get an ad to populate.

Searching the interwebs for this the only suggestion I found was to ensure proguard was working properly but I'm not using proguard at this time so I don't think that'll be a factor

Turns out the error occurred because I was using SMART_BANNER for the adSize instead of BANNER. Maybe I missed it somewhere in the logs but would have been nice to get a message somewhere showing that was why I couldn't get an ad filled and not because of unavailability

Hi Jason,

Both BANNER and SMART_BANNER should work. The "insecure content" could be related to some experiments we're running with making the ad request in https. It's possible that certain creatives are loading assets over http. That should be just a warning though and not cause a no fill. Can you try SMART_BANNER again and confirm?

I tried using SMART_BANNER again and I did not see the warning like I did last time, I did however still get the "no fill from ad server".  Is there any reason I would consistently get fills from BANNER but not SMART_BANNER?
