hii,

I am working with ads by dfp. And I want to try rich media ads with dfp. What I found is need to use javascript with html tags and need to load it in webview. But I doesn't know how to create and use the mraid.js file. The documentation from google is not decribe anything about how to implement it. Could anyone help to do it.

Thanks in advance

Hi there,

To create a DFP Ad that uses MRAID by specifying one of its Device Capabilities as MRAID v1 or MRAID v2 (under Targeting > Devices) when you create a new line item, and create its creative from a Third-Party or Custom creative template. Then, under the creative's setting, you specify your custom HTML code to be displayed as the creative of the ad, which may include your MRAID implementations.

You can learn more on how to use MRAID on your DFP Ads, as well as check out some sample code snippets here. You can also read more about the specifications of MRAID in our official help site.

Hi there,

Let me walk you through the creation of an MRAID-powered ad.
  1. First, create a Line Item ID.
  2. When creating the Line Item ID you will use, under the Add Targeting > Devices > Device Capability section, select MRAID v1 or MRAID v2 and click Include. You can learn more about the available targeting options in their official help site.
  3. Indicate all the other required information, and click Save.
  4. Now, you would have to specify a creative to the Line Item ID you just created. Create a Creative with a Creative Type of Third-Party or Custom.
  5. Under the Creative's settings, there is a section called Code Snippet. This is where you will input your MRAID implementation.
  6. After putting all the required information, simply click Save.
  7. You have now created your own MRAID Ad that can be used via the Mobile Ads SDK!
Now, to answer your questions:

Do i need to create ads using javascript? And rich media ads are html tags?

Short answer, yes. The entire ad is coded like an HTML web-page, powered by Javascript. As in my previous response, the official support site contains sample code snippets, as well as sample templates for you to get started on creating your own MRAID ad.

To load rich media ads , do i need to use webview or is there any other way?

To load your MRAID ad, simply use the Line Item you created with the MRAID creative and indicate it as the Ad Unit ID in the Ad Request.

If you are from dfp Support team can we have a session?

The DFP Support Team is a separate team from us, the Mobile Ads SDK Team.
Unfortunately, aside from this forum, we do not have any other channels or form of contact. However, DFP has its own product forum as well if you would also like to consult the experts there. I would recommend you double check this with the experts of the DFP Forum as our team specializes in Mobile Ads SDK related concerns.

Hey guys,

I am facing some problem with showing MRAID ads, I have setup an android app following this tutorial, https://developers.google.com/mobile-ads-sdk/docs/dfp/android/banner, and have done everything Joshua mentioned. But what next? Creative and line items are created. Won't I have to create a ad unit?

Thanks.

Hi Neha,

Yes, you need to create a DFP Banner Ad Unit Id before you can display DFP Banner Ads using the code implementation in this guide.

If you would need further assistance, please create a new forum thread as this is an old one.
