Hello,

Since iOS SDK Version 7.44 "App Measurement" initializes and sends data on app start by default. I know that you can delay app measurement until the Google Mobile Ads SDK is explicitly called. But can you not only delay it but also switch it off completely?

I don't want to use it since it might be an issue with data privacy laws.

Thank you so much!

Kind Regards
Martin

Hi Martin,

Thank you for reaching out to us. It is not possible to disable app measurement. It is a part of the Mobile Ads SDK (dependency) and is used for internal purposes only which collects “AdMob user data” (e.g app open events, impressions, click measurements., etc.).

Does that mean that if I have a dependency on AdMob SDK, it automatically includes app measurement which automatically starts on app starts even if I never call any AdMob features, do not initialize it and do not show any ads?

Hi 3C Tools,

Thank you for asking this question.

Based on the previous discussion, the answer would be yes. As once the app is opened with Admob in it. The SDK would want to start collecting some of the user data that it needs to effectively deliver ads to your app.

Also if you are not showing ads, or not initializing it. There would be very little to no data probably being gathered.
