Doubleclick for Android - Close Interstitial with code

I am using DFP SDK for Android. I want to know if it is possible to programatically close  a PublisherInterstitialAd after I've called 'show' on it. The use case is to have the intersitial automatically close after a configurable timeout. Is this possible in the SDK?

Hi Andres,

As of GMA v 7.6, the SDK does not provide API's to programmatically close the Ad. Once the InterstitialAd has been loaded and shown, it is up to the user to manually close the ad. But there is an exception when serving Interstitials through Direct Campaigning. More about creating house ad campaign can be found here.

Hi Veer,

The type of ads that we would be running in this ad unit are Only interstitials booked via direct campaigns in DFP which we want to be automatically closed. We will be blocking interstitials from being eligible for any AdX, Ad Sense etc. With that being said, how are interstitials that are booked via direct campaigns in DFP automatically closed?

Hi Rachel,

You can create an auto closed enabled DFP Interstitial ads using the a creative template. This can be done by selecting Mobile Interstitial with auto-close(app) in the Mobile Templates. This template enables the auto-close control to be used. You can read more about the Creative Templates here.

Hi Manjeet,

That option is only available for house ads via AdX or DFP and cannot be done so programmatically via the SDK.
