We are a small Publisher of Android Apps.

So far we have a few Android Apps, only supporting AdMob BANNER ads.

(We have settled at BANNER ads, as that seems to be what our users hate the LEAST.)

Our current RPM (or eCPM) is approx US$ 1.5 for most of our apps.

As we would like to try to increase this RPM, we would like to try to show ads from other Ad Networks,

They all say that THIS IS SO Easy - but our experience shows that it is NOT.

So far we have settled on SDK-LESS Mediation, as integration of other Ad APIs seems difficult.

But - according to Googles own documentation, only three other Networks support SDK-LESS Mediation of BANNER ads.

Our problem seems to be that:

- One of the listed Ad Networks (Aarki) does not even answer emails.
- Another of the listed Ad Networks (Drawbridge) does also not answer emails.
- The third Ad Network (Smaato) seems to be very supportive, but - even if the SDK-LESS Mediation does seem to be working - the initial Ad performance is extremely poor (e.g. an eCPM of US$ 0.2), and they seem to have problems reporting the number of Clicks correctly. (Their number of Clicks do not match with the number of
Clicks reported by AdMob for the Smaato Ads.).

So what do we do?

Any Advice is welcome.

Kind regards, MJens.

Hi there,

Thanks for relaying your feedback!

Did you run into any specific problems when mediating using other ads APIs? It should not be complicated to set up, provided you walk through the correct sequence of steps as outlined by the mediation partners.  Let us know if there was any issue at this stage, and we will be happy to assist.

As far as SDK-less mediation goes, we don't really have visibility into how others structure their logic.  But again if you have questions in setting things up, feel free to let us know.

Thank you for your reply.

Our conclusion is that not even SDK-Less Mediation seems to be a viable alternative yet.

Either because the alleged partners/Networks cannot be reached, or because the one remaining Ad Network is performing very poorly, and probably also has technical problems.

We just have to wait, looking out for new/other SDK-Less Mediation partners/Networks to arrive.

We would also be interested in hearing about the experience of other app developers/publishers about this.

Regards, MJens
