CRITICAL ISSUE: App Open Ad Skip Button Stuck on Loading – Users Blocked from App

Hello Google Mobile Ads SDK Team,

I am reporting a critical issue where App Open Ads are rendering without a functional close/skip button. Instead, the area where the button should appear is stuck in a perpetual "loading spinner" state.

This issue is occurring across all devices (Android) and all OS versions, causing a total lockout for our users as they cannot dismiss the ad to enter the app.

Technical Details:

• Problem: The ad content displays, but the Skip/Close logic never initializes.

• Occurrence: 100% of the time for certain ad creatives.

• Platform: Native Android

Steps to Reproduce:

1. Initialize the Google Mobile Ads SDK.

2. Load and Show an App Open Ad on app start.

3. The ad appears, but the top-right corner shows a loading circle indefinitely.

4. The user is forced to kill the app.

Attachments: I have attached a screenshot showing the stuck loading spinner.

Request: This is severely impacting our user retention and causing a surge in 1-star reviews. Kindly solve this issue.

I tested our Google Sample Project with the test ad unit ID’s but unfortunately we are unable to reproduce the reported issue on our end. Could you confirm whether the mentioned issue is reproducible in our sample project? If yes, please share the following details via reply to author option? for further investigation.

• App ID’s and affected ad unit ID’s 
• SDK versions are being used
• Sample project reproducing the issue
