I am having a nightmare with the Google UMP SDK solution. The Iubenda one looks like it might be way better.

Is anyone here switching to the Iubenda CMP?

Are views of the consent form inside an app considered equivalent to views on a website? My app earns little from ads but I could easily get 500,000 GDPR form requests in a short time when people update. I have to pay for all the excessive views at $0.06 per 1000? That would rule it out.

As with everyone else here I have problems when user manages consent later on, after initially granting it. Ads don't show and my app becomes essentially free without ads.

Thank you. I know that they are a licensed CMP alternative to Google's own UMP SDK. I just wondered if anybody here is using it as there seem to be a lot of UMP SDK problems.

Hello,

Thank you for responding back to us.

I'm afraid that on our end, we have not yet encountered any publishers coming to us with regards to Iubenda. Since you're wondering if any publishers have used this, you may wait for other publishers to check this forum thread. Kindly note that, we can only assist you with regard to UMP and Mobile Ads SDK. Should you need further assistance on that or with regards to Google Mobile Ads SDK itself, do not hesitate to come back to us and we will be glad to assist you.

Hello MSMS,

One question, if we use a third-party sdk to present consent to users, can we not use Admob to monetize the apps?

To use Admob, is it mandatory to use the ump google sdk?

Thank you

Hello,

Thank you for responding back.

With regard to your concern, UMP SDK is a part of AdMob SDK in order to get the consent of your users then serve ads accordingly, so this means that it is recommended to use UMP SDK for handling user's consent.

Hello,
Ok, I understand that ump sdk is part of the admob sdk, so if I use Iubenda to show consent, I can NOT use Admob ??

I decided to use Google UMP. If user does not consent then simply reduce functionality.

Hi,

Implementation

There are no new user interface controls to implement limited ads. Publishers can indicate whether limited ads treatment should be applied.

  • GMA SDK: Publishers can use the gad_has_consent_for_cookies key in platform shared-storage to enable limited ads on Android and iOS.

For publishers using the IAB TCF v2.0, we will respect the cookie or ID consent signal (Purpose 1) contained in the TC string. Limited Ads will be requested when consent for Purpose 1 is missing but Google is allowed as a vendor to operate based on legitimate interest or consent for purposes 2, 7, 9, and 10.

For limited ads requests, reporting will be unavailable for in-app conversions. Reporting on impressions for limited ads is available using the Serving restriction dimension.

Hello Test Dvd,

Thank you for responding back to us.

As mentioned previously, our support only have capacity to assist you with UMP SDK and Mobile Ads SDK implementation. If you opt to use any third party SDKs, it would be best to reach out to their support channel instead to confirm if your use case would be feasible to proceed.

Let us know if you have any other issues specific to using the Mobile Ads SDK.

@Hezi, it appears that you have forwarded a documentation for limited ads. Can you confirm if you have any questions or issues with it? If so, kindly elaborate here so we can further assist you. On the other hand, if this is completely not related to the original posted issue on this thread, we highly recommend creating a new thread for your concern for better tracking of issues.

Hi Test Dvd,

To be clear, from https://support.google.com/admanager/answer/13554116 Iubenda is a Google-certified CMP for app. So yes, you can choose to use them instead of the UMP SDK and still get ads from Google, even post January 2024.

Thanks,
Eric, Mobile Ads SDK Team
