Can Some One Clarify AGE of Consent for General Audience

Like apps are made for General Audience even if store set them 4+, if apps don't collect data, don't have dangerous stuff, it only drops on what ads admob serves. The first question would be does latest sdk & ump even need this, why admob identifiers don't set this at UMP level?

Now if this still required app is for General Audience even 4+ do we still need the tags and do we set them False for General Audience: 

requestConfig.tagForChildDirectedTreatment =false 

requestConfig.tagForUnderAgeOfConsent = false

Now maxAdContentRating that can be set from admob must it be G (general) ,or can be incresed safe to PG?

As this is what admob will tell you "Upon further checking, we can see that you have implemented many blocking categories in the app, which explains the reason for no matched ad requests. Hence, you may like to reduce the blocking as it reduces competition for your ad space by removing advertiser bids from the auction. " 

They also say we blocked to many Sensitive categories they even sent picture, like in Sensitive Standard Categories we only have: Astrology & Esoteric, Cosmetic Procedures & Body Modification and Downloadable Utilities enabled. How can we stay safe if we unblock more & when we ask them what to unblock they never answer.

We know we can implement a age gate, but that would be a 3th popup besides Consent and ATT. Imagin asking age for a simple board or puzzle game.

So comming back to the question on general audience do we leve tags false, do we increse adcontent rating to PG from G, we don't want redirection to links we want a simple answer.

Like child-directed settings, there is a method in RequestConfiguration.Builder for setting the TFUA parameter: setTagForUnderAgeOfConsent(), with the following options.

• Call setTagForUnderAgeOfConsent() with TAG_FOR_UNDER_AGE_OF_CONSENT_TRUE to indicate that you want the ad request to receive treatment for users in the European Economic Area (EEA) under the age of consent. This also prevents the transmission of the Android advertising identifier (AAID).
• Call setTagForUnderAgeOfConsent() with TAG_FOR_UNDER_AGE_OF_CONSENT_FALSE to indicate that you want the ad request to not receive treatment for users in the European Economic Area (EEA) under the age of consent.
• Call setTagForUnderAgeOfConsent() with TAG_FOR_UNDER_AGE_OF_CONSENT_UNSPECIFIED to indicate that you have not specified whether the ad request should receive treatment for users in the European Economic Area (EEA) under the age of consent.

Apps can set a maximum ad content rating for their ad requests using the setMaxAdContentRating method. AdMob ads returned when this is configured have a content rating at or below that level. The possible values for this network extra are based on digital content label classifications, and must be one of the following strings:

• MAX_AD_CONTENT_RATING_G
• MAX_AD_CONTENT_RATING_PG
• MAX_AD_CONTENT_RATING_T
• MAX_AD_CONTENT_RATING_MA

If your app is part of the Families program, the maximum ad content rating you set in the AdMob user interface may be overridden. The following ad content ratings will be applied:

• Families (primarily child-directed): The maximum ad content rating will be overridden and set to “G”. These apps can only show G-rated ads.
• Families (mixed audience): The maximum ad content rating will be overridden and set to “PG” if greater than PG. These apps can only show G- or PG-rated ads.

In your case since the app is for 4+ it should be set to "G" as per the maximum ad content rating for an app or account. I also would recommend you to check manage target audience and app content settings help center article for more information.

Hi,

To better serve users, it's important to provide accurate information about your app. In addition to filling out the content rating questionnaire, you'll also need to provide details about your app's target audience and content.

As per target age groups help center article you should only select more than one age group for your app’s target audience if you have designed your app for and ensured that your app is appropriate for users within each of the selected age group(s). 

For example, an app designed for toddlers should only have the age group "Ages 5 and under" selected.

You should only select age groups that include both adults and children, if you truly have designed your app for all ages, not just because you want your app to be available to users of all ages.

Please note that if your app targets any users who are under the age of 21, you must consider if they would be considered children under their local laws. Apps that target children must comply with Google Play Families Policy requirements.
