Thank you for reaching out to us.

You can use the users under the age of consent with TAG_FOR_UNDER_AGE_OF_CONSENT_TRUE to indicate that you want the ad request to receive treatment for users in the European Economic Area (EEA) under the age of consent. While with TAG_FOR_UNDER_AGE_OF_CONSENT_FALSE to indicate that you want the ad request to not receive treatment for users in the European Economic Area (EEA) under the age of consent.

If I define setTagForUnderAgeOfConsent(true) function in Google UMP the consent form; I get the error ConsentForm is not available (isConsentFormAvailable false). If I set setTagForUnderAgeOfConsent(False) to false it works. Why am I getting a form error when defining setTagForUnderAgeOfConsent(True)?

Instead of form error; Shouldn't a form be shown to determine whether non-personalized ads are allowed?
Is setTagForUnderAgeOfConsent(True) considered as a direct non-personalized ad display? Are there no ads shown?

Hi Abbas,

If your app is primarily a family app, in which case you would set setTagForUnderAgeOfConsent(true), consent form won't be presented. Children under age of consent should not be presented a consent form.

You can still get ads once setting setTagForUnderAgeOfConsent(true). See more details in https://support.google.com/admob/answer/6223431?hl=en .

Hello,

I see this original thread is from 2021. We have made updates to the UMP SDK since then - see our release notes for more information.

For both cases a TC string will not be present; however, we strongly recommend integrating a Google-certified CMP and tagging the consent request accordingly to be in compliance of the upcoming enforcement on January 16th, 2024.
