Smart Banner Max Width

Is there any width limitation of smart banner? i have a game with landscape orientation. i use Samsung Note 3 to test. my screen width is 1920. i see my width nearly 1800 px. i set position as 0,0. i also tried 100,0 position. there is no crop on the ad. Standard banner sizes are ok with density 3.

Hi there,

Smart banners consume the entire width of the screen in whatever orientation the device is currently in. I'm not sure I understand your issue, could you please elaborate a bit? maybe throw in some screenshots.

Hi,

i attached screenshot.top banner is smart and position is 0,0. there is empty space at the right side. bottom banner is LARGE BANNER and it's size and position is ok. 

i also saw some ads are centered in portrait mode and when it is refreshed, 2nd banner consume entire width.

also it strange that at portrait orientation smart banner size is 1080x150. my screen size is 1080x1920. related to rules belove it must be 1080x270(90 x 3). density is 3.

Let's walk through this one problem at a time.

Regarding the first problem (smart banner not covering entire width, and bottom banner works fine), do you always see it in landscape mode, or does it also happen in portrait mode?

As per the documentation (which you linked), if a smart banner doesn't consume the full width, the banner should be centered and the remaining space should be filled with textile graphics.  For next time, could you get us a Charles log for when you see this (and the others you reported) issue?

i send other case as separate post.

i have problem with landscape mode. in portrait mode it is centered when it is not consume screen width. in landscape mode it is not centered. it is left aligned.

i do not want to install charles and install its root certificates. it is not a secure process. i can give you screenshots and reproducible info. have you tried a smart banner in landscape mode with note 3 (1920x1080 res) ?

Hi Ufuk,

Thanks for the info.  Does it happen to all creatives (and devices other than the Note 3) when the device is in landscape mode or only selected ones?  Because, as a I said, the banner should be centered in both orientation modes whether or not it is consuming the entire device width.  But since in landscape it isn't centered, and if it happens to all creatives, could you make sure that the AdView is properly centered in your XML and its width set to FILL_PARENT?
