I haven't received any reporting for any clicks since 6/17 and
impressions have dropped significantly since I've updated to the new
SDK. Usually I would see some clicks/revenue trickle in during the
same day, and the rest would be delivered the following day. Seeing
no reported clicks or revenue for three days is leaving a bad taste in
my mouth and I'm already looking into other ad agencies. What is the
meaning of this? Is anyone else experiencing the same issue?

Can anyone else confirm that their clicks/revenue have dropped
significantly since the update? I did not change any code in my app
after upgrading to the 4.1 SDK. Should I have changed some code? Is
there anything else I need to do besides updating the Jar? I'm really
confused and my boss is now breathing down my neck about this. This
app gets around 20,000 impressions per day and for the past three
days, since updating to the 4.1 SDK, the reporting shows 0 clicks!
It's hard to believe we'd go from having around 25 clicks per day to
having 0.

Any info/help would be much appreciated!

I think we've all had some transitional issues that seem to be
recovering.

However, your question about "what else changed" - it depends on what
you're upgrading from. If it was really old, then your XMLNS changed,
the ATTRS.XML is gone and you need to re-code your app to load ads
properly. If you're going from 4.0.4 to 4.1, maybe switching out the
JAR would be fine... except you're not getting clicks. When we went
from 4.0.4, it seemed to be an improvement overall.

Do you have any logcat errors? Do ads appear to display properly on a
real device?

Jim,

Thanks for replying. I guess the problem is only happening to us.

After updating the JAR, I did the following to our app:
- changed the XMLNS to "http://schemas.android.com/apk/lib/
com.google.ads"
- I left the attrs.xml file there ( kinda sloppy...I'm a digital
hoarder.... )

The ads run fine and there are no problems showing and clicking on ads
(my boss actually had me e-mail our users to see if they are receiving
and viewing ads and if any users had clicked on an ad in the past 72
hours...I was embarrassed to do this). There are no reported problems
with showing / clicking / viewing ads.

Our impressions / requests are still being updated regularly, so I
don't believe the connection between our app and the server has
broken. For three days straight our average clicks of 26 per day has
gone to 0. The ads that are being displayed have not changed and they
are targeted extremely well, so the probability of getting 0 clicks
for two straight days is highly unlikely.

Another bit of information that might be useful in locating our issue
is that most of the ads displayed are not adMob ads. We have filtered
most of all categories to "off" because there simply aren't any ads in
the adMob categories that suit our app. We don't want to show ads for
Aunt Jemima because our users would have NO reason to view that ad. I
know this is not recommended by adMob, but they simply do not have any
advertisers that target our application's purpose. After filtering
most categories to "off" in the adMob application settings, we saw a
dramatic increase in our CTR, making the boss happy.

With that said, most of the ads that show are from AdSense and have
the AdChoices text displayed on the add.

So, the questions I have to get answered for the boss are:
- Since the app is still communicating with adMob and impression/
requests are still being reported, could we rule out any coding errors
that might be preventing the clicks from being tracked?

- As I said before, we used to see some clicks trickle in on the same
day, and by the end of the next day (around 48 hours later), we would
see the final numbers added to that days revenue/clicks. Could it be
that reporting from Adsense/AdChoices is being delayed longer than the
usual 48 hour period?

I'm patient, but my boss is not. Good thing he doesn't read these
forums. I'm not sure he'd appreciate me depicting him as the
demanding/impatient person that he is.

Regards,
Chris

Have the same experience and I did not change a thing to my app. Looks
like adsense backfilled stats have not been updated since 17/6. Hope
it's just a backlog...

I have the same issue:
starting from 17 june, revenues dropped because many clicks ( ~50% in
my case )
are not reported nor counted while all the other values
(requests, impressions, fill rate, etc) are regulary increasing day by
day.
I guess untracked clicks are the adsense originated.
I hope this is temporary trouble of the system and I hope will be
recovered later.
No official news on the topic?

Not that I'm happy to see others losing money, but it's good to know
that others are experiencing the same issue. At least now I can go
tell my boss that it's not just us. Maybe that'll calm him down for a
while. This morning he has my other team member working on getting
adwhirl integrated into the app.

Be it that this is sort of a "transition" period (linking google
accounts with adMob accounts) and that there are also other issues
right now with the Android Developer console not updating regularly
I'm sure Google/Admob is aware of the issue, but why not just let
developers know there is an issue and it's being worked out? You can
pay someone 30k a year to sit on the forums and reply to us for issues
such as this. It takes not but 30 seconds to post a message on this
forum to ease our minds so that we can continue to develop more/better
apps. It's kind of like when a little kid gets into trouble and
doesn't say anything until his Mom/Dad finds out and has to fess up.

Believe me, I'm a "google fan-boy." I love the Android operating
system and think it's the cream of the crop compared to all other
mobile environments, but these kind of things need to either be
corrected at a faster pace or at the VERY least, let us know that our
clicks are still being tracked and to not worry!

I will post here when I start to see the clicks/reporting get back to
normal numbers. Thank you all for replying and letting me know that
it's just us, and for all of you who think that nothing is wrong, you
might want to check your numbers again. If you're using AdSense
through AdMob, you can probably bet that your losing money.

Regards,
Chris

.....backlog also reported for me today as well. Thanks to everyone
for replying to my post and letting me know I wasn't alone with this
issue. Now, hopefully Google's next step is to fix the developer
console reporting!

I've been seeing a percentage of clicks paying no revenue for a few
days now.

I've got a low traffic app, but I started noticing it a few days ago
when I had 14 clicks and at least 4 appeared to pay $0, then an
adsense payment came in a short time ago, also producing no revenue.

The same thing happened yesterday with one click apparently producing
$0.

Is this what you guys were seeing?

Your situation sounds different. Download the revenue chart. Some
clicks pay less than $0.01, so it appears as if nothing happened. The
downloaded data adds up to 2 decimal places to the revenue. Also, if
you had $0.0151 in revenue and a click pays $0.0090 then your new
revenue would be $0.0241 - but the website would read $0.02 for both.
(Low revenue clicks are more common outside the US.)

Some of us were seeing "unreported" clicks - there was no click and
there was no revenue posted for a valid click event.

I'm still having this issue with CTR and eCPM at 1/3 of what they used to be before June 17th.

I read here that many of you had this issue but in some cases the AdSense clicks were reported back in the Admob stats, which is not my case.

How long did it take for you to get your clicks reported back after the problem emerged?

As I said I'm having this (huge) issue since June 17th and the problem is still there, no sign of CTR, eCPM and revenue going back to normal values...

Given the total lack of support and communication from Admob, I really hope you guys can shed some light on what's going on..

Some addtional info:
- we are using adwhirl (not sure this matters)
- after being prompted several times, we recently 'upgraded' the Admob account to a Google account. We don't have an actual AdSense account, but have AdSense enabled within Admob.

Any idea on what might be causing the problem?

It may be a different problem, but I'm either getting no revenue
sometimes or some clicks are paying less than 1/10,000th of cent. It
happened again today as I've so far only had one click, and both the
screen and downloaded data is showing 1 click for zero revenue.

I am having the same. Normally Adsense revenue is couple of days late, but now it is apperently 7 days late. I would receive around 0.04 cents per click, but now it will drop below 0.03. Is this normal? Or is something strange happening? (Google and updating is not a good combination, the developer console of the market has a lot of problems too recently)

I got the same problem.
I have ads for both iPhone and Android,
the iPhone counter seems normal but
Android one always reported 0 clicks.
(Ever I click the ads on real Android phone).

Why Google (AdMob) take such a long time to fix this problem?
Its really disappointed !!!!

I posted a issue about this concerning windows phone 7 beta SDK.
At the time i thought i was the only one that wasnt seeing clicks and
that
it was due to using the WP7 beta but i guess its a more generic
problem than that.
