I updated my App two days ago (July 6 morning) and all the ads kept appearing.
Since the next day (yesterday) they no longer appear, with the error "no fill." (code 3) in the console.
I rechecked all settings, policies and whatnot and everything is correct:
- no policy issues on AdMob
- the website domain is verified (same as before, but since a week on a new server)
- the app-ads.txt is verified, with also my App-ID recognized and a score of 100% green (two days ago it did not recognize the app-ads.txt, so I put it on my server and did its check)
- I have not modified any ad units
- The "vendor information - Transparent" setting was already active
- My billing information and account have all been up to date and verified, for years

The ads have been served for the past few months and I have not changed any ad units or campaign settings.

The detail of the error in the Android Studio console says:
{
  "Code": 3,
  "Message": "No fill.",
  "Domain": "com.google.android.gms.ads",
  "Cause": "null",
  "Response Info": {
    "Response ID": "null",
    "Mediation Adapter Class Name": "",
    "Adapter Responses": [],
    "Response Extras": {
      "mediation_group_name": "Campaign"
    }
  }
}

In the Play Console there is a notification "Update your target API level by August 31, 2025 to release updates to your app," but since it is August, it should not affect my app now.

The "AdMob ads not showing troubleshooter" says "No apps on your account" even though my app has been active and serving ads continuously for 5 years.

Can anyone help me please?

Hi,

Thank you for contacting the Mobile Ads SDK Support team.

The Error code 3, no fill error means that the ad request was successful, but no ad was returned due to lack of ad inventory. Kindly note that the SDK just requests ads to the ad server and does not have any control on the ads it serves. I would recommend that you refer to AdMob Error Codes & Logs for more details about the issue.

Could you kindly provide the below information via reply to author option so that we can conduct an investigation and offer a solution.

  • ad unit ID
  • app ID
  • Mobile Ads SDK version

Thanks,
