androidx.fragment:fragment:1.0.0 outdated

Hello,

I have received "The developer of androidx.fragment:fragment (androidx.fragment:fragment) has reported version 1.0.0 as outdated." warning message while releasing my app in google play console.

My app implements only play services ads sdk (com.google.android.gms:play-services-ads:22.2.0) which could be internally dependant on androidx.fragment package. 

So, how can I make my app use the latest version of androidx.fragment package? Or how I can avoid this warning in google play console?

Hi Team,

I have uploaded the files to the link given.

I feel com.google.android.gms:play-services-ads:22.2.0 using outdated version of androidx.fragment:fragment version 1.0.0 as per the maven repository page given below

 What can I do in the project to avoid this error while updating the app in play console?

PS: App is working fine without any crashes or errors.

Thank you for flagging this issue. For now, because the app is not crashing you can continue working as normal. I have escalated this to the greater engineering team to take a deeper look at. I will respond here when it has been resolved.

constraints.implementation 'android.fragment:fragment:1.1.0' works for me.

Thank you for your patience. I can now report the engineering team has resolved the issue and the version has been updated to 1.1.0.

com.google.android.gms:play-services-ads:22.5.0 -> Play Services Basement 18.2.0 -> androidx.fragment:fragment:1.0.0

Basement 18.2.0 contain fragment:1.0.0

Hello,

Thanks for pointing that out. The fix was addressed in Play Services basement version 18.3.0, which as not been released yet. As soon as that version is released, the Google Mobile Ads SDK will use that version and the issue will resolve itself. 

In the meantime, if you need a workaround, you can manually add the higher version of the androidx.fragment:fragment in your app's dependencies.
