Hello, I haven't found a Group dedicated to AdMob so I'm posting here.

This is a question about AdMob.
One of my app has adult content. It is 100% compliant with the Google Play Store policies as I have rated it as mature.

Obviously I can't show Google ads within this app because of the mature content.
However, I was wondering if I could use AdMob mediation for this adult app, excluding Google ads and enabling only third parties ad networks that allow adult app content in their guidelines.
Or would it go against the Google policy?
I would like to use mediation because I am using it in other apps and it would be very convenient for me to concentrate all reporting in only 1 place.

Hope it makes sense, and thanks for your time and help.

Cheers

I don't think you are violating any policies though IANAL.

It seems like a reasonable way of going about your requirement. Though that note that with Admob mediation you are unable to switch Amob off entirely. You can however make it the last network in your mediation chain.

I don't recall Admob disallowing adult content. At one point they were delivering adult ads unless explicitly configured otherwise.

Thanks for your answer.
Indeed, setting AdMob as last in the chain was my idea, though it doesn not guarantee 0% impression.

I am positive AdMob's policy does not allow adult ads even with no explicit image/video, but just adult text. One of my app AdMob ad has been disabled for such content, even if the app was set for mature rating in the Google Play Store.

Again thanks for your answer William, I would love to hear more feedback / thoughts from other AdMob mediation fans.

Cheers

Honestly, the safer route would be to steer clear of AdMob altogether if you have an adult content app. You can't guarantee that AdMob ads won't be shown since AdMob always has to be part of the mediation flow in the new AdMob UI, and if your account/ad unit gets disabled, you'll need to re-release your app in order to integrate with other networks.

There isn't a good story right now for the developer who wants to mediate but does not want to / can't use AdMob ads.

Thanks,
Eric
