Hello all,

I'm trying to add interstitial ads to my app, and I realized there are two types of them, ones that can be closed right away, and the others that can be closed after about 5 seconds.
Is there any way to filter out those 5-seconds ads and to show only the ads that can be closed right away? I unselected "video" type and selected only "text" and "image" types in the ad unit setting page, but it seems not helping.

Thank you!

Hi Emily,

Those types of ads are called "TrueView" ads, which are only available on Video Interstitial ads. If you removed "Video" as an Ad Type for your Interstitial ad, then the type of ads you described should not display anymore. Do note that changing your Ad Unit IDs settings need at least a few minutes to an hour before they apply.

That said, would you be able to try again with your Ad Unit ID and verify if you can still replicate the issue? If you can, would you be able to send a screenshot of the ad you received? Additionally, can you provide us your Ad Unit ID so we may investigate further?

Hi Joshua,

Thank you for your reply.
I checked it again, and yes it still shows the mobile strike and the game of war ads which make me wait for about 5 seconds before I can click the X button.
My ad unit ID is ca-app-pub-7414408493219451/6649189524. Can you check and let me know what I am missing? Thank you.

Also, although I know it's not a technical question, I'm worrying if my Admob account is at the risk of being suspended because, while checking the types of ads my apps is showing, I watched the ads many times and even accidentally click it once. (I tried to press the X button but the button was too small and my finger was too cumbersome..)

Hi Emily,

Thanks for providing me your Ad Unit ID. However, the ads you are describing are not getting served on my end.
However, for those type of ads, you can manually filter them out by using their Advertising URL or, if you know their bundle/package IDs, then you can use those to block them.

For your second concern, unfortunately we would not be able to comment on it since it is more of a policy issue than with the SDK. So I would recommend you to contact the Product Support Team via this form to get confirmation on this.
