Can I dismiss interstitial ad in onPause of my app so that App Open ad doesn't show on top of interstitial ad

Hi, I am implementing Google ads in my app and I don't want to show app open ad when an interstitial ad is already open and user comes back to the app from somewhere. How may i control my app open ad to not show above an interstitial ad?

Am I allowed to dismiss Interstitial in onPause of my app so that when user returns, app open ad is not displayed above an interstitial ad. Or what implementation is suggested by Google please guide.

Hi,

There is no way to programmatically close the interstitial ad and it is not recommended. Kindly check the App open ad guidance and best practices and try to avoid loading two different ad format at a time.
