Completely shut off admob mediation and only display in house ads?

I am developing an iOS and am admob to show in-house ad banners in my app. I only want my app to show in-house ads, but I occasionally see ads from the normal admob mediation sources.

Is there a way to completely turn off ad mediation on Admob, leaving only my house campaigns to be displayed in my app?

Thanks!

Hi Jonathan,

With the way mediation works, your house ads will be prioritized (based on the inputted eCPM values) in the mediation stack, and served first before AdMob starts returning ads from other ad networks.
AdMob itself remains active at all times as it acts as the default backup network in case others fail.  This guarantees you will always get an ad.  That said, you can go to AdMob's web interface and manually configure the allowed and blocked ad networks list.  You can uncheck networks whose ads you do not want to show during mediation.

Vu,

I never want a single ad from any source besides house ads. I am selling ads directly to businesses, so I don't want any slots given to anything else.

Is this possible with admob or should I use a different service?

Thanks!

Hi Jonathan,

In AdMob, there is no way to completely disable mediation or third-party ad networks in order to purely show house ads - at least I am not aware of other methods. It is only possible to "deprioritize" the rankings of the networks based on eCPM values.

However, you may use DoubleClick for Publishers, where you can set up and manage your own inventory.  DFP is also integrated with the MobileAds SDK, so you can use the existing implementation to send requests to the DFP network.
