"AdMob Offline Notifications" channel on Android

Hi, I recently found that my app have a new notifications channel: AdMob Offline Notifications

Anyone know what is this channels? I can't found information about that. It's not mentioned in the documentation.

Hi Rodolfo,

Thank you for bringing this issue to our attention. While we do not have any information pertaining to this specifically. from what I can tell in my search and base on what I would think. it would appear that it will allow you to set up some kind of push notification to you. Beyond that we have nothing here. But if you would like I would suggest contacting our AdMob Help Center as they might have more information about this.

I can confirm this is happening to many of us.

Seems like something new is added by the Ads SDK that the moderator is not yet aware of.

Maybe because of AppOpenAd, not sure though.

But it is included in the Ads SDK which I can confirm because I created a sample app to check & the same behaviour was found.

Hi,

I still see the adMob offline notifications in our app. For now, I am deleting the notifications after initialize but is there any update on when this issue will be resolved?

Hi Archana,

Starting in SDK version 20.0.0, you shouldn't see the offline notification channel being created anymore unless you happen to get back an ad that uses notifications (and you'd know if you were in that camp, it's part of a feature that's in private beta).

Can you confirm which SDK you're using?
