Hi there!

We have an Android app which was using banners and interstitial ads. A month ago we dediced to remove banners and use native ads instead. We published the update and the statistics for the native ad unit show a 30% fill rate. For example, we have 38814 requests and only 10832 impressions.

For banners and interstitial ads we have nearly 100% fill rate.

Also, mediation or house ads are not available for native ads, so we are wasting a lot of ad space in this app...

Is this normal for native ads? Or are we doing something wrong?

Thanks!

Hi Ernesto,

It sounds like this is happening due to low Native Ad inventory. Are you using any targeting in your app? Is there any frequency capping on your Native Ad Unit ID? You can also send us your Ad Unit ID for us to look into.

Thanks,

Hi Veer Busani,

Thanks for your quick response.

Indeed that's what I thought, but wanted to confirm it, as we have been working with Admob for about 5 years and the fill rate was always 100% for banners and interstitials. But as soon as we moved to native ads, we started seeing this...

Regarding the ad unit, we have 2 ad units for the app and select between them randomly, so we can do A/B testing (slightly changing the templates so we know which ad performs better). There are the IDs:
ca-app-pub-9637283630402775/7717856043
ca-app-pub-9637283630402775/7854980049

We're not using any targeting or frequency capping for these ad units.

Thanks for your help.

Regards.
Ernesto.

Hi Ernesto,

Thank you for your Ad Unit IDs.

This is sounding more like a low inventory issue now. I was able to receive ads and the integration seems to be spot on. As this issue is not related to our SDK, can you contact your Account Manager, if you have one, to sort this one out? If you don't have one, you can contact our AdMob Product Support team who would be able to look into this.

Thanks,
Veer Busani
