I have a problem with the google ump sdk, when calling the "ConsentInformation.Update(request, OnConsentInfoUpdated)" function.

if my request parameter has no "ConsentDebugSettings" it generates an error ( NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object ).


i'd like to know if it's absolutely necessary to add "ConsentDebugSettings", to call "ConsentInformation.Update(request, OnConsentInfoUpdated)" without generating an error. even if i don't want to test my mobile for ump

With regard to your concern, if your app is not yet being release, then you may used "ConsentDebugSettings" for testing your app. As per our documentation guide (https://developers.google.com/admob/android/privacy) it mentioned that be sure to remove the code that sets these test device IDs before you release your app. If you still encountering error in your end, kindly provide us your sample app project for us to further check it in our end.
