Hi Guys,

A short question is whether AdMob is supported on Amazon Kindle devices?

But I want to extend my question and put a bit more context around it.
The situation I've encountered with Google Analytics made me to think that Kindle doesn't support AdMob.
And all this relates to Google Play Services as I suspect they're not supported on Amazon Kindle Devices.

Here's the situation I'm facing:
I have integrated AdMob and Google Analytics into my App.
They both are part Google Play Services.
After I have published the App in Google Play I see that people are downloading the App, and I also can see stats coming through to GA and users are clicking on AdMob Ads.
After a while I have also published my App on Amazon Apps Store with no code changes.
Here I observe a strange thing - my App was downloaded 200+ times over the last 30 days but in GA I see no single Kindle device being reported.
Basic logic says if people download an App they should run it at least once and this should be reported to GA.
But as I have mentioned I don't see any stats of Kindle devices in GA.
Since Google Analytics and AdMob are part Google Play Services it makes me to think that AdMob Ads might not work on Kindle devices as well since they're both part of Google Play Services.

Have you ever experienced similar issue?
Could you share your thoughts and ideas where the issue might be?

Regards,
Rimas

Hi Rimas,

Most APIs in Google Play services require the app has the Google Play services app on the device (if the device has the play store installed, it'll have the play services app). Google Analytics may fall into that category -- I'm not sure.

However, the Google Mobile Ads SDK still works on devices without the play services app, including on Kindles. It does this by running against the local copy of play services you bundled into your app, not the play services apk on device.

Thanks,
Eric

Im having a similar problem, I have one of my games at the play store where it has very low downloads or activy (at admob) i uploaded it at Amazon and im getting a good amount of downloads, therefore the Impressions at Admob went up by like 20 times. HOWEVER im not getting anything from it since there are no clicks. but based on other apps, 2K impressions should have at least 1 click to generate something. so im thinking by some way, Amazon devices are not working ok with ADMOB

Hi Rodrigo,

We do not provide support for any third party app stores, like the Amazon Store. However, our SDK can still work on devices without Google Play Services as long as they are bundled into the app as a dependency. We would not be able to provide any support and since this is about impressions, I would suggest you contact our AdMob Product Support team about this.
