Hi

Recently, when testing new project, I found that if I name package with ".app." inside like com.[companyname].app.[productname], then the Admob ads will never show up, even the test ads.
So the ".app." is the keyword of Admob and developer should never name with it?

Thanks.

Hi Tom,

Thanks for reaching out to us.

It's indeed odd that you can't load Ads when you use a package name that has ".app" in it. That said, I've tried to load Ads using our sample app and changed the package name into "com.google.app.bannerexample", but I didn't encounter the same issue. Could you try our sample apps on your end and see if you'll still encounter the same issue?

On the other hand, for us to test on our end, please send to us privately (using Reply privately to author option) your package name and Ad Unit Id.

Regards,

Hi,

Did you receive my Package Name & Ad Unit ID?
I also tried with sample apps, and the sample is running good, even I change the name to com.xxx.app.xxx.xxx. But not my app

BTW, here is Warning I got from Logcat
First time when I start my app:
W/GCM: GCM SDK is deprecated, com.xxxxx.app.xxxxx should update to use FCM
I/Ads: Trying mediation network:
I/Ads: Instantiating mediation adapter: com.google.DummyAdapter
I/Ads: No fill from any mediation ad networks.
W/Ads: Failed to load ad: 3

When I click to load Ad, I got this error
W/Ads: There was a problem getting an ad response. ErrorCode: 1
W/Ads: Failed to load ad: 1

But like I mentioned in previous emai, if I just change "app" to "myapp" then it works fine, my app can load ad:
06-02 02:40:55.623 7080-7080/com.xxxxxx.myapp.xxxxx W/System: ClassLoader referenced unknown path: /data/user_de/0/com.google.android.gms/app_chimera/m/00000007/n/x86
06-02 02:40:55.625 7080-7080/com.xxxxx.myapp.xxxxx I/Ads: Ad finished loading.

It is so weird, pls help me fix it.
Many thanks.

Tom

Hi Tom,

Thanks for taking time to share additional helpful information and for testing our sample app.

Since you confirmed that you have successfully loaded Ads in our sample app using your package name, then, it is safe to say that the issue is not specific to your package name. That said, I've tested your Ad Unit Id, and I kept receiving Error Code 0: Internal Error. However, upon further checking, this seems to be more of an Ad serving issue rather than anything specific to the code implementation of the Mobile Ads SDK. I would recommend to have your Ad Unit Id double checked by the Product Support Team and/or use this troubleshooter.

For further checking on your end, I also suggest to check if your payment information and PIN verification has been completed.

On the other note, it's indeed odd that you received different error codes when you tried to load Ads in app start and by clicking the load Ad button. The Error Code 3: No Fill error suggests that there are just no available Ads at that moment, however, Error Code 1: Invalid Request means that there's something wrong with your Ad request parameters (eg. incorrect or invalid Ad Unit Id). That said, are you using the same code snippets/blocks when loading the Ad Unit Id on app start and when clicking the load Ad button?
