Hi team,

I am a Product Manager for an app service and we are trying to use Anchor Adaptive Banner on our service screen. I need to make a guide for our designer & developers for this.

While an iOS developer testing the Anchor Adaptive Banner, he faced with an issue with placing the banner ad considering with 'Safe Area' on iOS device. He said that

1)if he put the the banner ad considering the 'Safe Area', the banner is floating above the app content, and the content is visible below the banner ad (fig1).

2)If he adjust the banner ad area to include in the Safe Area, the app content is no longer visible, but the ad is not displayed properly at the bottom of the app screen and the home bar is displayed above the ad (fig2).

In this situation, which way should be right way to adjust the Anchor Adaptive Banner?
And could you please give a correct way to adjust the banner if those 2 options are all incorrect?

Hi Jacob,

Thank you for reaching out to us.

As per your concern, we do have a detailed guide on how to display ads on "Safe area". We would recommend checking it out which you can find here: https://developers.google.com/admob/ios/x-ad-rendering.

Hi,
Thank you for your advice.

One more thing I concern:
if the banner is placed considering with the Safe Area as the guide below, the App contents is displaying under the banner like the 'fig 1'
Since the screen where the banner ad is placed is a scrollable screen, the app content should be visible below the banner ad.

I need your detailed advice.스크린샷 2023-07-21 오전 11.22.17.png

Plus, I need to let the designers & developers UI guide (Banner size by OS)
Since we will be using Anchor Adaptive Banner, I understand that if we only share the width size of the mobile device, the vertical and width sizes of the banner will be optimized, but please double check if this is correct.

Hello Jacob,

Thank you for providing us with an illustration.

Based on this, this implementation is not how a anchored adaptive banner should behave if following all the guides as instructed here: https://developers.google.com/admob/ios/banner/anchored-adaptive. The anchored adaptive banner should remain at the bottom of the screen regardless if the app content is scrollable and there should be no app content below it. The banner should be outside of the app content.

If you wish the banner to be a part of the app content while scrolling, we recommend using instead Inline adaptive banners. All information regarding this can be found in this document: https://developers.google.com/admob/ios/banner/inline-adaptive.
