I have an iOS app with Firebase integration. I can see app analytics in firebase console like first_open. Firebase is also linked to my Google ads account. I have added relevant conversions in Google Ads. I ensured that my app id is present in the firebase project settings.
Now in addition to my app, I also have my website which tells users what my app does and has a link to the App Store page of my iOS app.
Now I have set up a Google ads campaign only for my website and not my app. Reason, I want users to first see what my app does on my website, before they download the app. This will help me to improve app engagement greatly. Directly advertising my app is not my intention (for now).
Now the issue I am facing is, that I don't see my app conversions in Google ads. I know I am taking an indirect path i.e. Google Ads -> My website -> Link to App Store -> App download and app usage.
I want to see the app conversion from the ads. How can I achieve this? I was expecting this to show automatically as Google should track users beyond my web page, but it's not happening.
Need help, as I have no idea if my ads are resulting in app conversions or not.
Hi Ashish,
Thank you for reaching out to us.
As per this article about conversion, conversions can no longer be created in AdMob. The Conversions table will continue to display a read-only list of the conversions you’ve created in AdMob and Google Ads. Going forward, all conversions should be created in Google Ads and tracked using the Firebase SDK. If you’re setting up conversion tracking in Google Ads for the first time, follow the instructions to track conversions with Firebase.
