I am reaching out for specific guidelines on the frequency cap for showing rewarded ads in my application, as I am currently unable to find precise information in this regard. The existing documentation appears to be ambiguous, and I seek clarity to ensure compliance with AdMob policies and avoid any risk of account suspension.

App Context:
  • My application exclusively uses rewarded ads for monetization, avoiding other ad formats like interstitial or banner ads.

  • Users can earn coins by watching rewarded ads; each ad view rewards the user with 1 coin.

  • To unlock premium features, users need to accumulate a significant number of coins, which may result in frequent ad views.


Concerns and Questions: 
  1. Lack of Specific Data: I have been unable to find accurate data or clear guidelines regarding the frequency cap for rewarded ads. The current documentation from Google AdMob does not provide explicit recommendations, leading to uncertainty in implementation.
  2. Frequency Cap Clarification: What is the recommended interval between individual rewarded ad views to avoid being perceived as spammy or violating AdMob policies? For instance, would allowing users to watch a rewarded ad every 1 minute be too frequent?
  3. Daily/Hourly Viewing Limits: Is there a guideline on the maximum number of rewarded ads a user can watch per day, hour, or any specific time frame? I aim to ensure that the ad viewing frequency is within safe limits to avoid misclicks or policy infractions.

Clear and detailed guidance on these matters would be invaluable. I am committed to providing a user-friendly experience while strictly adhering to AdMob's guidelines and ensuring my app's monetization strategy remains compliant.

For your concerns and questions:

  1. Lack of Specific Data: Please use the following help center article to understand Frequency capping and Set frequency capping for apps & ad units.
  2. Frequency Cap Clarification: yes, it is recommended. For example, you can set a frequency cap to show no more than 2 impressions per 30 minutes. 
  3. Daily/Hourly Viewing Limits: There is no maximum number of rewarded ads a user can watch per day, hour, or any specific time frame. You can specify a limit to the number of impressions you'll allow in a specified time period for an individual user during a period of time.
