Hello Everyone,

I really need the help of someone to help me find the cause of the multiple 'Accidental Clicks' Violations I received from the AdMob team, up until now I received the following mail several times for different apps of me:

We are alerting you that your app is currently in violation of the AdMob program policies. Importantly, this will require action on your part to ensure no disruption in ad serving. Please read below for more information on the actions you need to take:

Publisher Id: XXX

App Id: XXX

Current ad serving status: Active

Violation explanation

LAYOUT ENCOURAGES ACCIDENTAL CLICKS - INTERSTITIAL ADS:

Publishers are not permitted to encourage users to click AdMob interstitial ads in any way. Please review how you’ve implemented interstitial ads and be mindful of the following non-compliant implementation(s):

  • Interstitial ads that load unexpectedly while a user is viewing the app’s content.

For more information about our policies and tips for how to comply please read the following:

Action required: Please make changes immediately to your app to comply with AdMob program policies.

Current account status: Active

I do however have no clue what I'm doing wrong in my apps, I made some changes to try to be completely in line with the AdMob Interstitial guidelines, my current flow looks like this: I show only 1 interstitial to the user, which is directly after the loading screen of the app. Which is before any content is displayed to the user or any interaction with the content is possible for the user. After this point there are no other Interstitial being displayed, I do even cancel the ad loading when the app is backgrounded during the loading screen or when the hardware back button is pressed on the loading screen. This to prevent an Interstitial from appearing when my app is not in the foreground anymore. Today as a last try I did even an update with new ad unit ids and removed the old ids in the AdMob console, this to prevent very old clients from viewing any ads anymore.

This flow is completely in line with the guidelines described here: https://support.google.com/admob/answer/6201362?hl=en&ref_topic=2745287

However AdMob does somehow not agree with my implementation and till now for 2 of my apps all my ad units in the applications are disabled and they send me this mail:

This email is to alert you that one of your applications is not currently in compliance with our AdMob program policies and as a result, ad serving has been disabled to your application.

Issue ID#: XXX

Ad serving has been disabled to: XXX

Action required: Check all other remaining applications in your account for compliance.

Current account status: Active

Violation explanation

LAYOUT ENCOURAGES ACCIDENTAL CLICKS - INTERSTITIAL ADS:

Publishers are not permitted to encourage users to click AdMob interstitial ads in any way. This includes any implementation that may encourage accidental clicks, such as placing an interstitial ad in a way that prevents viewing the app’s core content or placing an interstitial ad in a way that interferes with navigating or interacting with the app’s core content and functionality.

Please review how you’ve implemented interstitial ads and be mindful of the following common examples of non-compliant implementations:

  • Interstitial ads that appear before the app has opened or after the app has closed.
  • Interstitial ads that are triggered after a user closes another interstitial ad.
  • Interstitial ads loading unexpectedly while a user is viewing the app’s content. Remember to only serve interstitials between pages of content.
  • Interstitial ads that trigger after every user click.
  • Interstitial ads that appear during periods of game play or heavy user interaction.

For more information about our policies and tips for how to comply please read the following:

I appealed to both of them friendly, one was re-enabled again the other was removed from the program permanently! with this mail:

Thank you for your email. However, please be aware that because your app was found to be in violation of our program policies, it is no longer eligible for participation in the AdMob program.

Publisher Id: XXX

App Id: XXX

Your account remains active, and you are welcome to place Google ads on other apps which comply with AdMob Publisher Guidelines and Policies. To help prevent policy violations in the future, we recommend reviewing these references to help keep your account in good standing.

This all feels really unfair to me, I do not receive any input what exactly the problem is or what should be changed. This almost makes me to move away from AdMob which I rather not want to do because I had good experiences with them from the past.

Could anyone please take a look at this app (or one of my other apps) to see what could possibly be wrong?: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.funlabmedia.drumroll

Or bring me in contact with a support team to help me?

I use AdMob v11.8.0 using gradle (com.google.android.gms:play-services-ads:11.8.0)

Hi there,

Thank you for your patience.

Please note that the guideline link you are following are Disallowed interstitial implementations so these are implementations you need to avoid. For recommended interstitial implementations, please refer to this article instead as well as the other guideline articles provided in the email. After you've made changes to your app to be compliant, you may send a request to re-enable ad serving to your app via this form.

That said, this forum can only cater to technical questions specific to the code implementation of the Mobile Ads SDK. I suggest that you raise any concerns about permissible actions to the Product Support Team as they are the appropriate team to assist you on this.

Regards,
Ivan Bautista
