I am implementing the new requirement that needs a UMP. So I am implementing the Google Admob's one.

Part of the requirement, you need to provide a link for the user to change their choices. When the message is loaded again, the previous choices are not remembered and all the default (not consent) flags are on by default again.

Is this the wanted behavior or the previous selection options should be checked?

Thanks

Hi,

Thank you for reaching out to us.

With regard to your concern, you've mentioned that "Part of the requirement, you need to provide a link for the user to change their choices. ", can you confirm if you're referring to the user's consent information at every app launch? If yes, as per this documentation guide (https://developers.google.com/admob/android/privacy#display-message), you should request an update of the user's consent information at every app launch, using requestConsentInfoUpdate()(https://developers.google.com/admob/ump/android/api/reference/com/google/android/ump/ConsentInformation#public-abstract-void-requestconsentinfoupdate-activity-activity,-consentrequestparameters-consentrequestparameters,-consentinformation.onconsentinfoupdatesuccesslistener-successlistener,-consentinformation.onconsentinfoupdatefailurelistener-failurelistener) before loading a form. This can determine whether or not your user needs to provide consent if they hadn't done so already or if their consent has expired. Use the information stored in the consentInformation object when you present the form (https://developers.google.com/admob/android/privacy#present-form) when required. However, if this is not what you're referring to, can you provide us more context about it so we can further confirm if it is an intended behavior?

This message is in relation to case "ref:_00D1U1174p._5004Q2n9TQR:ref"

Thanks,

Sorry, no this is not what I meant. I do request it at every launch as per the guide. What I meant was the requirement mentioned here:

Consent revocation
Consent revocability is a requirement of the Privacy & messaging user consent program. You must provide a link in your app's menu that allows users who want to revoke consent to do so, then present the consent message to those users again.

So when I present this form, all the previous settings that the user chose are gone and all settings are back to default (when you click on "manage options").

So let's say that the user went to "manage options" the first time he launched the game and selected "consent" on different categories. When loading the form again from the link within the game to change its preferences, when going back to the "manage options", all the settings are back to the default "not consent".

I just wanted to know if this was intended or if it was a bug or if I had to do something else to "preload" the previous settings.

Hello,

The original answer on this thread still applies. What you are experiencing is the expected behavior. Please note the consent choices are saved in local storage but the consent form just displays the default form.

Thanks,
Justin
