AdMob policy on Modal screens covering banners

Hello,

In an application I am working on, there's an Ad Banner at the bottom of the main screen. Various buttons in the main UI can be tapped to bring up a modal window. The design of this window has the modal centered on the screen, with a ~70% black overlay covering the rest of the screen, effectively covering the modal. Tapping on the overlay or the X button closes the modal.

I have mocked up something quick to demonstrate this. Please see attachment.

My main concern is if this is against policy to cover the ads, and if so, what the best workaround would be?
- Should I display the banner *over* the modal overlay as well?
- Should I hide (isHidden = true) the banner view when the modal is active?

Hi Joe,

Thanks for clarifying things with your image.
Both of your workaround seem to be all right, although the first workaround would be preferred as a disappearing banner ad might confuse your users.

However, I would not be able to confirm if this is allowed or not as this forum is for SDK implementation related issues only. For policy related questions, you would have to contact our Product Support Team for inquiries as they are more equipped to answer your concern.

Hi Joe,

No worries!
Can you try clearing your browser's cache and access the link again? Sometimes the redirects experience problems.
Moving forward, if you still cannot access it, you can go to the AdMob Help Center home page, click the Contact Us button on the upper right corner of the page and select Email > Account Issues > Account Setup and General Questions. It should take you to this page.


After that, just fill out the form with your concern and hit Submit.
