I am thinking of using the same Ad ID for multiple apps (for example, they are apps in the same series, or different language versions of a multiple app where the size is too big if placed all languages media together).

Is this OK and is there any disadvantages?

Hi Thye,

We strongly recommend using a different Ad Unit IDs for every ad placement you have. This would allow you to have granular metrics about how different ad placements are doing, and allow you to easily turn off certain placements. If one of your apps gets banned, then we'll stop serving ads to all of your apps. If you're using mediation on one app, you'll have to use it the same way on all of them. Also, you might have difficulty with linking your apps, and serving house ads. It's better to use multiple Ad Unit IDs.

Thanks Amy. I have this particular case - the app is named Sing to Learn English, which is a music video-based music app for kids. Since music video is very big, and Google limitation of an app is 50MB, we have to break down to 7 apps as a series. I have a few such apps where the apps are in a series.

In this case, we really don't need to know which do better, or an app inside this series will be banned. Is this still OK?

PS: I am interested to learn about mediation, and how to use it, where to find it? Thanks!

You can still use different AdUnitIds for each app.

But I'd be considering rearchitecting your app to use music vids for an external source such as youtube. That way you don;t need to bundle them with your app.

Hi,

Thanks for the help! There are 2 issues here:

- YouTube is not available in China
- We wanted the user to use the app (so that they can have access to AdMob), and do not want them to be access outside the app (if you know a way to restrict the YouTube video to app only, please let us know).

So use your own or another website that is available.
You can secure the access to your own site and most content delivery sites will also provide secure access.
