AdMob and Google Ad Manager have the same SDK library code. The only difference lies in some integration points, such as com.google.android.gms.ads.AdView and com.google.android.gms.ads.admanager.AdManagerAdView.

Can we use Google AdMob Placement ID with the integration code for Google Ad Manager? Or can we use Google Ad Manager Placement ID with the integration code for Google AdMob?"

Hi Akshay,

Thank you for contacting the Mobile Ads SDK Support team.

Yes, you can use both the AdMob SDK and the Google Ad Manager (GAM) SDK. AdMob and Google Ad Manager have the same SDK library code, but they have different implementations because they connect to two different ad management platforms. AdMob is Google's automatic ad exchange for mobile apps, while Google Ad Manager can manage ad exchanges from both web pages and mobile apps.

The placement ID you use determines which ads are loaded. For example, using an AdMob placement ID will load an ad from AdMob, and using a GAM placement ID will load an ad from GAM. The Ad Unit ID you use also depends on which app you want to use. For example, a sample Ad Unit ID for Google AdMob is "ca-app-pub-3940************", while for Google Ad Manager it is "/6499/example/app-open".

Please reach out to us, if you need any further assistance.
