Hi,

I own an Android app which occasionally requires text inputs and thus, opens the keyboard. I have recently implemented a banner ad at the bottom of the app, however when the keyboard is opened, the AdView is forced on top of the open keyboard, which distorts the entire app UI.
What is the correct implementation to fix this?
I have tried to programmatically pause and resume the AdView when the code prompts the opening and closing of the keyboard via adView.pause() and adView.resume(), which seems to work well.
However:
  • is this implementation technically correct?
  • is this approach compliant with AdMob's policies?

Thanks,

Michael

Hi Michael,

Thank you for reaching out to us.

With regard to your concern, as per this article, it mentioned the examples of poor banner ad implementations that often cause high levels of invalid activity due to the proximity of the ad to app clickable elements. Since you mentioned that you're able to find a work around on your concern and it's not causes any invalid traffic or causes any error in your app, then it safe to assume that it is compliant to the AdMob policies and implementation is correct. You may also check this article for recommended implementation of banner.
