Cannot see mediated ads in test environment (FAN and [Unity Ads])

Hey everyone!

I have tried to bang my head to the wall and to Google search query results for three days in a row so let's see if this forum can put some pillows between my head and the brick wall, hah!

So here's the background info and plugins & engines used:
GOAL: 
Trying to test Unity Ads and Facebook Audience Network test ads in test environment.

SETUP:
Unity 2018.4.14f1
Google Mobile Ads Unity Plugin: 3.18.3
Facebook Unity Mediation Adapter: 2.7.1
Unity Ads Mediation Adapter: 2.1.0

DONE SO FAR
1. Followed the instructions on AdMob Unity SDK Test Ads page here.
- Device test IDs set correctly
- Test Ad Units for Rewarded Video placements set up correctly
2. Followed the Facebook Audience Network instructions here
- Added all placements and configured Facebook as a source inside Admob, set up credentials there 
- Added advertising ids in Monetization Manager 
- Installed and logged into Facebook App on test devices
3. Same things for Unity Ads mediation set-up here

RESULTS SO FAR
1. I am able to get the test ads for Admob, but not for other networks on test device.


I have tested under "enable test devices" approach as described here, but I haven't used the Mediation Test Suite as it's a bit more problematic to set-up and it shouldn't be needed for either Unity Ads or Facebook Audience Network.

One thing that might cause issues is the fact that I am using newer Facebook Adapter than Mobile Ads Unity Plugin itself. I tried to import the newest Unity Plug-in but it caused so many problems that I would avoid updating it if I can.

Any suggestions to fix the problem are more than welcome!

Thank for submitting this issue with us.

 

First I would suggest that you contact the Facebook support team for the mediation as it would appear to be an issue with their adapter. Secondly I would also check with the Unity groups to make sure that you are also working on the recent adapter correctly. Thirdly, I would also just check to make sure that the mediation is setup correctly on our side.

 

Also if you could share via "Reply privately to author" with your app id, ad unit id, and a sample of the code that you are using so as to allow us to test it on our end. Also please check out this page for better explanation of the Test implementation.

Hey William,

thanks for getting back to my post so quickly. Actually I was now able to resolve this issue.

There was to things that cause the before-mentioned issue:
1. My test environment was actually set up using Google's sample ad units which is why the system only gave me the Admob's sample ads. Our system is quite complex that's why it took a while for me to figure this out.
2. Test device ID that I needed to input to Facebook wasn't the same as advertising id that you can get very easily from Android phone. Instead, I needed to check sytem logs with logcat to get the actual test device id. After I put that into FB Monetization Manager, I was able to see FBs test ads.
