Hello,

When calling nativeCustomFormatAd.recordImpression() we are no longer getting visible pagead2.googlesyndication.com/pcs/activeview calls available in charles.

Is this a known issue?

Hi Generic,

Thank you for reaching out to us. Let me do the best I can to assist you in this.

With regard to your concern, it's an expected behavior that you will not see any activeview / viewability pings when you try to load a native ad with a custom native format. The SDK doesn't have reference to the custom template ad view, and doesn't have active view monitoring on the ad view. However, if the custom template ad has media view, it should have active view monitoring since the media view is still rendered by the SDK.

Great, thanks for the help.  Is this something new?

Also, should we still be calling `recordImpression` on `NativeCustomFormat` views? How will the SDK know that an impression is happening?

Hi Generic,

Thank you for getting back to us.

This has been the expected behavior as far as I know. As per recording impression, yes, you still need to call the recordImpression() method.

Thanks for all the help.

Will the `recordImpression()` on the NCT render any call we would see within Charles?  That way we can verify `recordImpression()` is being called at the correct times?

Hi Generic,

Thank you for getting back to us.

Could you kindly elaborate your inquiry and what you mean by NCT?

Apologies, yes.  The `NativeCustomFormat`.  So, when we call `recordImpression()` on the `NativeCustomFormat` view, should we see a certain call in Charles?

Hi Generic,

Thank you for the clarity. As for the best way to answer your question. In general you will not see a specific callback function when you are getting the impression callback. But you will see almost litke a timestamp at a given time with certain information with it when the impression should be recorded. Also depends on what you are looking to gather from the callback?

Thanks for the help William.

I think we're looking for a way to validate that the impression call has been made correctly to the GMA SDK when we render a `NativeCustomFormat` ad.

Hi Generic,

You may want to check this guide which contains information for OMID viewability for display custom native ad formats.
